I need a video card to hold me until the new DX10 ones become more affordable. Yes I know that some new ones are coming in april but I am making my new pc in a few days. Thanks.

Anything that suits your fancy from EVGA. Then you'd have the option of stepping up (provided your willing to upgrade within 90 days).

Cool. Something in the 7900 family sound good for gaming?

Yes a 7900 EVGA series is fine for now

You can find some excellent deals on 7950GTs, X1950Pros and X1950XTs right now, any of those are more than adequate to hold you over.

Heres a couple i found:

7900GS

7950GT

X1950Pro

X1950XT

IMHO, the X1950XT is the best bang for the buck right now (that's what i chose and haven't regretted it for a second) but the 7950GT is very good as well.

I'm using a 7900gt while I wait out the r600/8900 game, but I play WoW and EVE (not insanely graphically intensive mind you) at 1280x1024 4xAA 16xAF and frames rarely drop below 60. HL2 is the same. Games like FEAR are a little bit more of a struggle at those settings, and oblivion is a killer, but hey, you just want something to get you by till some good DX10 options are available anyway 🙂

Oh, thats with a 939 4800+
