How do I stop Windows XP from automatically adding new network places in "My network places"?

I know there is a registry hack but I couldn't find it either here or with google ...

is this constant? because you can just delete them.

edit: there is a website that offers windows xp registry hacks, you can search for it on yahoo.com

did not find anything on yahoo either.
I know it is possible to stop xp from doing this because I did it before.

It is sooooo annoying to get all these stupid links under my network places from every single computer that connects to a network that an XP machine is connected to.

Try this
Open windows explorer- tools-folder options-view tab-under advanced settings, uncheck automatically search for network folders and printers.
Then delete the network places you don't need.
Good luck
