Stop Windows automatic driver installation

Hi,

I'm just wondering if you can stop the automatic driver installation when you boot in Windows... The thing is, when we install an Acer 4300 scanner on computers, windows install it automatically as a Flat Bed Scanner 22 or something like that... But this driver doesnt make the scanner work correctly... So I have to update manually the driver and force it to take the good driver...

Is there a way to stop the wrong drivers to be installed after each boot up??

Thanks!

Same question here and something else to. I have also encountered problems where when I try to install the correct driver, when I select which .inf file I have the driver info, windows says that the disk does not contain any drivers for my hardware and doesn't even show me coice to install the right one.

Only after grouling manual uninstals and reinstals can I finaly force the good drivers into place, but I would rely like to know a better way.
