Stop U3 from launching automatically?

We have some flash drives for quick backups and file transfers. The problem is that they have U3 and it boots up upon drive detection.

The problem is that the drives splash screen pops up and blocks possibly crucial programs until it is moved out of the way.
It can take a while for it to disappear on its own and even moving it can interfere with other applications.

I do have the software to remove U3 completely, but I would like to have it available if needed. I just want to disable at startup or somehow disable the splash screen.

I know version 1.2 should have an option to turn of auto start. The drives I have do have some install and uninstall launcher options, but they don't seem to do anything.
I don't know what software version the drives have (can't find a version number) and I cannot find the U3 upgraded software install, only the smart software.

Can anybody help me disable startup, or maybe give me the link to the latest software version.

The drives are from PNY and Memorex, but there may be more brands.

I'd like to know how to stop it, also. I have a PNY flash drive I just got two days ago.

I have stopped the video tutorial from playing but I see no way to stop the flash screen from appearing. I don't believe it's possible.

Version 1.2 should be able to stop the auto-launch and I hope the splash screen.

The U3 removal tool can be found here: http://www.u3.com/uninstall/files/u3%20uninstall.exe

This will remove U3 permanently and you will need to contact U3 or the manufacturer to get the software to reinstall.
