First off for me, I don't really torrent that often, more like 2+/- weeks total in a year's worth.

Got hit with a call from Verizon earlier today saying I have been involved in a serious matter over copyright infringement and I must stop, drop and roll to uninstall all p2p programs. Similar to this thread from last year.

Now the funny thing is I didn't even open or use the file I downloaded. I just hit the first link I saw and grabbed the torrent that was a few hundred megs, was testing connection speed after a format.

Anyways, guess the point of this message is I went and looked into it, looks like it's been expanding across the USA as of late.

Heh that sucks. I'm strongly against software piracy but I pirate a metric assload of TV shows as a protest against the networks dragging their feet on allowing me to get digital shows over the internet. I would gladly pay for what Americans can access for free, but if I visit sites like Hulu, CBS or SouthParkStudios I'm invariably hit with "Not available in your country". Well if my money isn't good enough for you then fuck yourself. I'm sick of buying fickle DVDs - it's 2010 and there's no reason I shouldn't have the same access to online content as my Yankee brethren.

Like GA I tend to only download TV shows now. Though I have been downloading some animated DC movies of late. I stopped pirating games and apps some time ago not because I have anything against it but it just got boring. I just finished cleaning my room yesterday and probably threw out 100-200 CDs and DVDs worth of old warez I used to keep years ago. After a while you start to ask yourself why do I really need the very latest version of photoshop again? I just use freeware now for almost everything. There's a good freeware alternative for just about everything now anyway. But yeah like GA I download a shitload of TV. I guess my ISP could come down on me for that too but they haven't. And the piracy laws in Canada are rather weak compared to the draconian shit you guys face in the US. Yeah Canada! :)

pfft. if i post my screenshots you're gonna end up owing me another beer

Yeah don't I take your word on that. That's very little compared to what I would have had back when I actually pirated stuff.

Previously you admitted that you still are pirating stuff.

:hmm:

PIC SNIPPED

My brother actually has A LOT more than me, I'm just a small fry by comparison.

Nice. I like is taste in shows too. But tsk tsk on the numbering scheme not prepending a 0 in-front of the single digits ;) Does windows now properly handle folder sorting without the zero?

Want me to list the contents of my 8TB NAS that is 90% full?

Depends on what's in it. Mostly Pr0n?

I can see needing a NAS at some point myself with the number of TV shows I plan on downloading actually.

Many of those listed there are HD recordings.

Yeah I've been busy downloading other stuff. Seen every single episode multiple times so I'm not in a huge hurry to get it right now.

For some reason ST:TNG is just one of those shows I can re-watch repeatedly and never get bored. I'd say I watch the entire series every 3-4 months.
