Strange you should mention RMA's...not that I abuse them (actually, I've never had to send anything back). My Maxtor 80GB is needing a replacement (bad sectors, can't format it, will let me repartition but won't do much else) but I can't get http://www.maxtor.com to load for me (even through proxies). Hrm, guess I'll call 'em tomorrow after work.

All you are doing is abusing the system making life more difficult for the next guy who really did get a bad product and one day we may no longer be able to send Real Manufacturars Defects back all because of you punk tweakers who send stuff THEY BROKE back and have no clue what they are hell they are REALLY doing. Get a real educated background before you decide to tweak any thing and then you may never need to RMA anything. Periond End the abuse that is costing us all money.

Tweaking is fine, just take responsibilty and do it at your own risk and not at the risk of other consumers by rma'ing after you break it.
I have done some tweaking my self, but on harware that is on its last leg and looking for somkind of boost.
the few times i have tweaked new stuff i have done at my own risk and when something breaks I BUY (PAY FOR) A NEW ONE AND DONT RMA IT. I am saying that we need to stress responsibilty in the oc/tweaking comunity. Cause you are biteing the Technology hand that feeds all of our passions.

I agree with you 100%. I know way too many people that will send a mobo back if the screwdriver slips when installing a new heatsink :mad;

I don't think I have ever RMA'd anything. Although I probably should have once or twice.

That is great, you dont abuse the system. Your reasons were more than likely valid and I have no problem with asking a company for an RMA since I have done it my self.

Please read my original post with a bit more care and decression, before you come to such generalization.

I agree, to many noobs trying to be elite and overclock and 99% haven't a clue. They should stop RMA's for overclockers or make them pay extra.
