Stop Steam from changing the recording device to "Microphone"

I'm getting upset about Steam/Half Life 2 changing the recording options from "Analog In" to "Microphone". Sometimes I forget to change it back and then I get no sound when I record TV. 🙁 Anyone know how to make it stop changing those recording options? I've disabled the Mic settings in Steam, but that didn't work.

Any ideas?

I never have that problem.

I run steam every day and use a Hauppauge PVR 150.


I don't run them concurrently however, I shut down steam if i'm gong to record a show.

Yeah, I open up Steam, play a game (either HL2, HL2DM or CS:S) and when I close the game and check the recording options, "Microphone" is selected. 🙁

Also, do you select "Analog In" or "What You Hear" when you record?
