A block or two away from me is a stop sign that used to be there.. the solid white is still there...

Are we still supposed to stop ? Not sure if they took it down or if it was ripped down... it's a school so ya never know.

if there is still a white line i believe you still must stop may vary by state but i think that is the law in Ohio.

Have you phone up the local goverment and say, "OMGWTFMISSINGSTOPSIGN" yet?

I'd stop or at least really slow down, because most people will be use to the sign being there and probably presume you'll be stopping. You don't really want to T-Bone someone.

People stop at stop signs? No way?

I was beginning to wonder because they certainly don't stop for them where I live.

If the other people coming across the intersection don't have a stop sign, then yes, you should still stop. Phone up your local department of transportation and let them know about it too.

If they do have a stop sign, its possible that it was intentionally taken down for some reason, but still, can't hurt to slow down. Particularly if its a blind curve.

It's like that at one of the air bases here. I usually just go through it though because no one is ever coming out of the parking lot or whatever it is that's perpendicular to the street I'm on. No one else stops either, but the word STOP is still in faded lettering on the road. Just do what other people are doing.
