Here's the message that I'm getting (after doing the mandatory restart after installing Easy CD Creator 5.0 Platinum) -

*** STOP: 0x00000050 (0xFFFFFFF0,0x00000000,0x8044EFC5,0x00000000)
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

*** Address 8044EFC5 base at 80400000, Date Stamp 3ad77869 - ntoskrnl.exe

If this is the first time you've seen this Stop error screen,
restart your computer. If this screen appears again, follow
these steps:

Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed.
If this is a new installation, ask your hardware or software manufacturer
for any Windows 2000 updates your might need.

If problems continue, disable or remove any newly installed hardware
or software. Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing.
If you need to use Safe Mode to remove or disable components, restart
your computer, press F8 to select Advanced Startup Options, and then
select Safe Mode.

Refer to your Getting Started manual for more information on
troubleshooting Stop errors.

I restarted my computer to see if that worked - no luck. I tried to start it in Safe Mode in order to remove the newly installed software (Easy CD Creator 5.0 Platinum), but I got the same exact error. I checked in my BIOS settings, as instructed, but had no luck in finding a setting that I could change. I am at a loss as to what to do now, as I seem to be stuck at this BSOD. If anyone out there has any ideas that I could try, I'd be GREATLY appreciative. Thank you very much in advance.

- Eric

EDIT - I have had Easy CD Creator 5.0 Platinum running just fine on this computer before. I just had to uninstall it for awhile to free up some space and now I was trying to put it back on.

I'm not sure if this will help, but have you tried:
1. booting from last known good configuration command
2. repair win2k install command
3. Changing BIOS to default

It could be a long shot, but you might want to test out the memory with memtest86 (it makes a bootable floppy to check out the RAM). I was getting errors alot like that (not after software installs, but randomly), and the test showed errors. By testing each piece individually on another system, it turned out my mobo was at fault, not the software.
