I'm sure this is a 100% stupid question. But does the brand of your CPU matter as compared to the brand of your graphics card, and vice versa? In other words, if you have an AMD CPU or graphics card, do you want to make sure the other is AMD as well? Or intel CPU you want to make sure you don't go AMD graphics card, but (likely) NVIDIA instead?

I would guess it makes no difference but I thought I would make sure.

Thanks!!!

20 years on the forum and you don't know the answer to this question?? wow...
but yeah, it doesn't matter. its not like Intel or nVidia have lines of code like "if(AMD) reduce_performance()". hardware components don't fight each-other haha.

AMD did try to sell us a "complete platform" in the past (dragon something...) and claimed it would boost performance if both the CPU and GPU were made by AMD, but that niche has died out.

congrats on the 20 years, though :)

There can be some really minor advantages of doing AMD + AMD such as AMD's Resizable BAR implementation (SAM) seems to perform the best there. But yeah, overall the differences are negligible.

Go with the combination that suits you best.
