Grabbed 2 of em off Excaliberpc. Got em in today. Theyre rated at 1,3,3,2 at 185mhz....
They only do 7,3,3,2.5@166!!! thats the highest theyll even post at!

GRRRRRRRRR

Did you try increasing the Vdimm voltage? Is your mem frequency set to 100% or synchronized? Try changing your CPU setting to optimal and perhaps your RAM timings there as well. See what the highest FSB it'll POST at is and then tweak your timings from there.

Highest fsb it will pst at is 170mhz.....
The pc will shut down after a minute or so though...
It runs kinda stable at 166

I hear not to increase the vdimm on these chips...they burn easily.

Even if....they should at least post at 185 with crazy settings like 9,3,3,3 but they wont.

ditto here. i having trouble with my pc3000 also. not even getting close to what they are supposed to be rated at. i can't even get them to 166 at those timings 6-3-3-2, vdimm2.7 (memtest crashes...yes...it crashes) --- highest stable is at 150.

2 sticks of 512 using msi ilsr nforce2. on xp2100 tbred-slk800 vcore1.7 multi 13x

very disappointed right now.

errr its not your ram. I don't think ram can shut down a computer unless it blows up or something.

its a known 8rda+ issue... what bios do you have?

In order to even pOST above 166 for me, nad hyperx pc3000, i had to force ram settings, and i mean force them with everything set to manual control. Also, update to either the 1/29 or 3/05 bios'.

Those are known to help as well.

I have the January bios...

We put them in a friends system tonight...His is the Abit Nforce2 board. They wouldnt run over 166 on his either. Jesus man...The 512mb stick of Crucial 2700 are known not to work with the 8RDA but they ran faster on this board than the HyperX. Somebody's about to give me a refund.

HI, I think I may have the same problem with the hyperx3000/256 and an 8rda+ (3129 bios). I have 2 sticks, 1 works at 185Mhz 6-2-2-2-2.0 but only at 2.63v. The other stick fails prime95 immediately at 133 or 166 at spd or optimal timings no matter what the voltage. this sucks, hope kingston has a good rma policy.

This no good at all! this is the stuff I have in my cart @ Newegg right now. Guess I'll go with the $40 more expensive Twinmos.
