Stone Brewery's Smoked Porter

Mookow

Lifer
Summation: , but only if you like strong tasting beers. Not that I consider this one particularly strong, but if your favorite beer is Natty Light, you probably wont like this. If you like Guinness, it's worth it to give this a try.

I don't think Stone Brewery has released a beer I do not like. At least, I havent had one yet that I didnt like. Anyway, this was my first smoked porter, and I'm looking for suggestions for any other good smoked porters.

I have now moved on to Stone's Double Bastard*. I should probably think about moving away from the keyboard real soon. But the good news is, my back is starting to feel better... well, technically, it is more of a case of it no longer feeling at all.

*To quote the label:
Warning: Double Bastard Ale is not to be wasted on the tentative or weak. Only the Worthy are invited, and then only at your own risk. If you have even a modicum of hesitiation, DO NOT buy this bottle. Instead, leave it for a Worthy soul who has already matriculated to the sublime ecstacy of what those in the know refer to as "Liquid Arrogance"

This is one lacerative muther of a beer. It is unequivocally certain that your feeble palate is grosssly inadequate and thus undeserving of this liquid glory... and those around you would have little desire to listen to your resultant whimpering.
That's just the start, it continues in more or less the same vein for quite a while after that. 20 proof, and 22oz per bottle.

It's not a smoked porter, but St. Peter's Porter is excellent. Left Hand Brewing Blackjack Porter is quite nice as well.

Stones Smoked is good stuff 🙂

 stone beers are some good stuff. and i should know, its brewed 7 miles away and its served pretty much everywhere around here. 😀

You're tempting me to kill you and then impersonate you, just for easier access to Stone products. FYI.

Actually, there is a bar near me with Arrogant Bastard Ale, Ruination IPA, and Double Bastard on tap... and everything else that Stone makes is in bottles. So I'm pretty happy. I'm also pretty happy that my back has stopped complaining... actually, I think it is more of a matter of my brain has stopped listening to the complaints. Either way, it is a good thing.

please dont do that. i just got used to this persons skin that i had to kill to get access to the brewery. i thought that rash would never go away...

thats a pretty sweet deal also. if you have access to all the beers (i.p.a. and pale ale too, right?), then you're in good shape. glad you enjoy stone beers. down here its fairly popular, but not enough that i see them flying off the shelves.

Yeah, we have access to most Stone products. As a matter of a fact, for Christmas my buddy bought me one 22 oz bottle of all the Stone products he could find, and it turned out to be 9-10 bottles.

The inventory of different Minotti's doesnt seem to be 100% consistent. If you have problems finding some, I could buy you a bottle and you could buy it off me (at cost) at some point. As long as your profile is correct and you live in Cleveland.

Yep, I'm in Cleveland. I'll check around and if I can't find any I'll let you know. Also, there's a place in Chagrin Falls called Chuck's Fine Wine and Cheese, tons of hard to find/rare beers there. It's at 23 Bell Street, Chagrin Falls. Pretty easy to find.
