Stock thermal paste on CPU

I have a phenom 2 x4 955 on the way and I know amd hsf's come with thermal paste already on, i have a tube of arctic silver left and was wondering if i should add a layer of arctic or leave it the way it is, with the stock paste? Thanks

Leave it, or clean it off and do artic silver. One or the other, not both.

if your using the stock sink, you dont need to worry about what TIM your using.

Because your sink will limit you in overclocking anyhow.

So i would listen to mark, and either leave it as be, clean it off with alcohol and use a better tim.

But dont do both.

One of my friends had a problem cleaning some stock TIM from the cpu after he used the heatsink for a few months. If you're considering upgrading your heatsink or if you ever want to remount the stock hsf, I would recommend using the arctic silver. Wipe away the stock TIM with a lint free cloth and 90% isopropyl.
