Obsoleet, welcome to the forums.
Have you considered doing an RMA for the Arctic Cooling Freezer64? I believe AC has a warranty that is several years long. As for your Antec 900, start by switching out all the 120mm fans with undervolted Yate Loons if you're still using the stock Antec fans, then undervolting (or unplugging) the top rear big fan.
Part of my desire to leave the 900 is the dust that collects on the grills.
The lowkey look of the Solo will fit in with my changing living situation for years to come.
It makes me sad to realize that (apparantly) I'm getting old and un-elite.. but I'm losing the fire and building a new C2D rig wouldn't give me the same excitement the same process has for 15 years now.
The only reason I really thought about moving to any C2-based CPU is because my mobo has a chipset fan on it and if I can make an inexpensive move, I can eliminate that fan without having to take it off and replace it with a heftier (silent) heatsink.
The 900 is a great case, but it doesn't fit my lame GPU and CPU anymore. The dust is only a minor issue really but still something I could do without.
A silent PC is something I've wanted for a long time, or near silent (CPU fan only, case fans and PSU fan only). I have a silent GPU now, and the Corsair HX520 which is pretty quiet.
The 900 is more quiet than most people would assume, one of the quietest cases I've ever had.
Thank you for the welcome, reading this site and searching its forums for info has always been a pleasurable/productive experience for me.
I searched on here for info on the MSI fanless 8600GTS before I ordered for example, usually some forum member here has experience with a given piece of hardware here.
I'll look into a possible RMA.
