Excellent song.

The Police are my favorite band, and most of Stings solo stuff is equally impressive. He's definitely one of the great all time musicians. I rather like seeing how his music has grown and matured over the years. And I hardly fit into the over 50 crowd. :)

Honestly knowing that that is a guy has ruined the song for me. Don't ask why but it has.

If you like that type of music try a band called " Dissidenten- Sahara Electric" they are an arab band that plays traditional arab style music in a modern/rock style......not for everyone though.

It's not bad, I used to love Sting and Police. I still like the Police. Sting's new stuff is okay, but just doesn't do it for me like his old stuff did.

Don't support Sting by buying his albums -- use Napster or something. More than likely, your money will go to further the defense of that scumbag cop-killer Jabal in Philadelphia, since Sting just knows that he didn't stand over the guy and shoot him in cold blood despite the trial which proved it.

Stick with your own country, Sting.

Moonbeam: Please don't tell me you honestly think that cop killer is innocent?

I haven't read about the case recently so my facts are little hazy, but there is a man (I use that term in the biological sense) in prison in Philadelphia for the execution style murder of a police officer. From what I remember, the facts were fairly clean, but of course, the murderer is black while the cop is white. That, obviously, means that the murderer was railroaded by racism, just like OJ.

There is a significant movement afoot nationwide which has the support of numerous celebrities including Sting, to free this murderer -- perhaps one police officer wasn't enough. Sting has even donated the proceeds from concerts to the murderer's defense fund.

The murderer's name is something like Abu Jamal, but I cannot remember it precisely. I'll see if I can dig up some stories about him.

Hey, I liked Ten Summoner's Tales. Sting has some excellent songs, but is not an excllent singer. I mean, his voice goes well with his songs, but he's not going to win any singing contests, you know what I mean?

AndrewR, His name is Mumia Abu-Jamal and there are tons of web sites devoted to his story. You ask if I think he is innocent. I don't know, but I also don't know that he is guilty. There is a huge effort to free him. I would presume that if we were talking a cut and dries case there would not be so much effort to free him. Just my opinion. My only point was that the Aryan Nation jury was wrong in your opinion and right in the case of Abu-Jamal. It seems that you do to later what you decried in the former, base your opinion on the nature of the crime, 'scum bag cop killer'.

If we are to be impartial, we can't start with feeling contempt, or needing someone to pay. He could be your brother or you.

I wouldn't dare say what AndrewR said about Mumia anywhere near the SF Bay Area. The movement to release him is very strong here. I'd agree with Moonbeam here (which is usually the case - that little mushroom is quite level-headed) and say that the case can't quite be so cut and dry if there's such a massive movement to fight for his freedom. And when I say massive, I mean it. There have been numerous parades, vigils, and sit-ins all around SF and the Berkeley campus.

On a lighter note ... Bober, you old fart. ;-)

The idiots holding these events are professional protesters who refuse to give up the spirit of the sixties. They will always find an issue to protest and get righteous about because they are forever looking to stir up trouble. Most "free Mumia" airheads couldn't even tell you the facts of the case and the reason why he's supposedly not guilty, they'll just say it's a matter of racism.

Most of the people behind the "free Mumia" movement are white. My theory is, like the idiot hippies they are, they somehow feel ashamed/guilty because they're white (white people are inherently evil remember?), so they feel the need to try to redeem themselves in the eyes of the people they "opressed" for centuries. That's why they blindly start such movements.

What I always thought ironic is that with all their "Save the Whales" and "Meat is murder" crap, the people of Berkeley would probably feel completely justified in lynching me for my adverse opinions. :)
