My return was sent electronically, and I mailed in the amount that I owed. So I should get a check back.

On the IRS site, they have a utility to check the status of my rebate. It says that your information should be in the system several days before they mail the check.

My last number of social starts with the first group of numbers that they are supposed to have all in the mail by tommorow. When I type my information in - I get nothing saying that I'm even acknowledged in the system.

Anyone else in my boat? Should I call? I ordinarily would not be so ancy, but I had to pay in over a 1000$ that my budget is still 'reeling from' and I sorta need this money.

Thanks!

Here is the site

I get "We are sorry. Specific information about your Stimulus Payment is not available." According to the schedule on that page I should get my payment direct deposited tomorrow but that message concerns me a little.

Does that present an issue?

I used TurboTax to prepare but I mailed it in and had my refund direct deposited.

Maybe this applies to some of you... I know it applies to me:

Here is a direct quote from IRS website (this information was removed from their website early last week):
"Q. I chose direct debit to pay my tax bill. Will my Stimulus Payment be direct deposited to the same account?

A. No, the account information used for an incoming Direct Debit payment to the IRS cannot be used as the account information for the Direct Deposit of the stimulus payment. People who choose Direct Debit to pay a balance due will receive their stimulus payments by paper check through the mail. [Updated 3/3/08]

Q. I plan to choose direct debit to pay my tax bill. I know my economic Stimulus Payment will not automatically be direct deposited based upon the Direct Debit information I've provided to pay my tax bill, but can I also enter Direct Deposit information to receive my Stimulus Payment by Direct Deposit?

A. Some tax preparation software will allow this, some will not. You will have to make this determination based on your own review of the tax preparation software you use. If the tax software allows you to enter both Direct Debit (Electronic Funds Withdrawal), as well as Direct Deposit information, doing so will allow your economic stimulus payment to be Direct Deposited. [New 3/20/08]"

Same here. I just checked the website provided above and it shows that my refund is scheduled to be deposited tomorrow.

Mine says 'will be sent out on may 16th'. I did my return via turbotax and got it DD'd into my account. I then did an amended return by mail and they mailed me the amount, even though i had DD information on the amendment.

so, i don't know.

I did mine with Turbo Tax and was supposed to get it on 5/9 and nothing yet. When I go to that page, I too, get no info presented.

I was reading somewhere else that the IRS considers Turbo Tax to be a "third party" preparer, and because of this for some asinine reason, they will be mailing paper checks instead of DD.

I thought if you owed money when you filed then you wouldn't get your stimulus check until the very end?

Wasn't that just for the Santa Barbra Bank customers?

That's completely false. I prepared alot of returns using TurboTax for guys at my old job and they have all recieved their direct deposits (if they were due already, some are waiting for tomorrow).

I got my stimulus payment, but I paid more tax than that this year. Oh well, more money for the farmers who burn their crops.

No, I sent in a money order as payment - no mention of my checking account anywhere in the return.

I could not get through to the stimulus line, but I called the main part of the IRS and the woman said they received my money and that I was paid in full - so I guess I should get it in theory.

if you filed and did the direct deposite but also you owed them money and still got a return (because there was a positive difference).

I used Turbo Tax but I mailed. Also nothing either but they sure cashed my check fast. According to my SS, my money should have been direct deposit on May 9.

BTW, if you picked direct deposit like me, you should receive a notice from IRS with your payment date.
