Here is my problem. I will either restart or cold boot the computer. Windows loads fine until after I type in my password. Then it just sits there. Sometimes there are two icons and a small piece of the taskbar. I then do ctrl-alt-del and go to taskmanager, nothing odd is there. I do it again and log out and it logs me out and I log back in and I am here. I view the event viewer and it tells me nothing. Could this be something with Diskeeper, ACPI (will provied the 2 errors if needed), or some other service that starts, i dont know. All I want is to be able to boot normally into windows without any problems. Please let me know if you have any information. PLEASE.
 
what OS you running?try going into safemode and disabling all the programs that loads up when you start windows
 
I am running XP Pro. What I think I am going to do is backup, format, and reinstall next week sometime.
