for all miata owner/drivers out there.

would you say a miata in stock form suspension/engine wise is great. Or is there a must have to replace list. aside from tires right off the bat.

been looking to get one, just gotta find a place to put it in the winter.

and as a bonus, you won't be bothered by any silly women hitting on you

lol...I don't know what kind of women might appeal to you, but every girl I've dated has loved the Miata.

That's going to depend on what you're using it for, but the short answer is all 3 generations are sublime straight from the factory.
On the other hand, if you're using the car as a track/AutoX toy, some suspension tweaks are always a big plus, as is the oft overlooked tire upgrade.
I've also found the basic suspension/tire upgrades I've done to my car to be enormously worthwhile for everyday and "enthusiastic" driving in the twisties, as it really provides a night and day difference over stock.

Good luck!

I did the suspension upgrades for autox but they still do well stock. I haven't done any motor mods and probably won't. To get any real power you have to go forced induction and that puts you into an insane autox class. I also had a 94 miata turbo and I don't really miss the power 95% of the time so I probably won't bother going forced induction on my 95. They are not fast cares in a straight line by any means stock but I just don't care anymore. The old saying its more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow is true.

LOL @ women comment. I've turned more heads driving the Miata than driving any other car. When I had it at GA Tech, girls took turns going for rides...I just never used it to get them from the passenger seat to my bedroom.

Lies. There are no girls at GA Tech. :D

Actually Tech has some hot girls now. Quantity and quality has gone up dramatically. I was shocked when I was down there recently to do some work. I heard they broke 30% in male/female ratio.

I know many would disagree with me, but I feel it to be underpowered. Of course all my cars have been decent performers (Mustang GT, Contour SVT, Mazdaspeed 6) so I guess I'm expecting a bit more.

My wife loves the Miata. Her sister used to own one.

They are underpowered but they feel faster than they are. Getting on the interstate or going up a steep hill in 5th are really the only times I notice. I had a 5.0l 89 mustang before the miata and while I do miss the lovely v8 sound the lack of power rarely bothers me. The miata is all around a lot more fun to drive.

I was in ATL on business and so I went up to GA Tech to look around and I too was shocked by how many attractive women I saw. But then again, 99% of them were probably freshmen, just having started school about 6 weeks ago, meaning there is a good chance many of them may not make it to their sophomore year.

I've owned a stock '95 M and now have a '94 that is boosted. They are fun cars indeed! Especially without PS and ABS... The simple the better like you said.

I have to say though, they don't compare to an S2000. Yeah it's a bit more money, but overall a much better car.
