Ok so around Xmas I had the money and was gonna get a Wii but decided to wait til about now. To my surprise every store in my area was out and online they are either OOS or price jacked.

What is up with this? 7 months after release?

Nintendo just cannot meet the supply and demand. In my area...I ran my brother to my local Gamestop and noticed they had empty Wii boxes outside beside the door with a sign that said in stock. So I asked if they really had them in...and to my surprise, they had 13. Manager said they have been there for 3 days. Went to Walmart next, and they had 4 Wii's in the glass case. And that was on March 4th. Since release till that date, Ive NEVER seen any anywhere around here. And since I bought mine, still have not seen any at all. Once I got home, I actually got out of the truck, held it in the air, and yelled, Im so lucky. Its just an awesome system.

Not as graphical as the other console's by any means. But ive had a 360 and Gears Of War, and the Wii is MUCH MUCH MUCH more fun. Keep looking dude, it will pop up when your least expecting it to.

Nintendo had no idea how well the Wii would keep selling after the holidays.

It takes a lot of time, effort and money to add another assembly line to increase production, and they have to be careful not to add more lines than they need 6 months from now not just today.

Say they're making 300,000 units a month for the US now and could move up to 500K by adding 2 more lines. If the long-term demand is only 400K then they lose a lot of money starting up 2 and then having one of the new lines sit idle.

They make much more just adding 1 new line and having it run 24/7 foreever until supply finally catches up with demand.

GameStop.com had bundles in stock last week but they're gone now until the end of the month. Amazon had a few last week too. Keep looking and someday fate will wii on you.

With almost 8 million sold worldwide, there is currently no end in sight for this Nintendo domination.

The Wii is cheap and fun.
Interestingly enough thats what video gamers want.

Nintendo should stick with this outrageous business model and see if it works.

As for my hometown:
PS3's all over the place, full price of course.
A handful of 360's here and there, mostly at EB and other mall places that tend to charge full MSRP.
NO wii's. Not one.
None at the big retailers like CC and BB. None at the mall.
None at all the Targets and Walmarts..
None at the little hardcore gamer and music stores you find in small downtown streets.

ASSLOADS of games. Especially at CC and BB.
No wii.

Not really.. its the non-gamers that are buying up the wii. Every "gamer" that I know that has a wii hates it.

I wouldn't say hate, but they definitely prefer a 360 or PS3. The Wii is fun but for single player or online play, the Wii gets old fast (or after you beat Zelda).

I'm specifically refering to people that I actually know in real life that have a wii and yes they hate it.

But yes, gamers in general play their wii for about 30 minutes then store it away. I personally hate Zelda games so I really have no reason to try out the system at all.

As long as Wii sales are meeting/exceeding expectations, Nintendo has no incentive to flood the market. A common theory is they're stockpiling for the "big" releases later in the year.

The problem with th Wii is that in the UK at least it isn't that much cheaper than an Xbox 360. The Wii games aren't cheap either.

Wii and 2 games: 240-250
X box Premium and 2 games: 270-280

Plus all the extra controllers for the Wii...

A core X box 360 and 2 games and a Memory unit is less than 200

As soon as people realize that there aren't many games worth playing.

Well, thats a matter of opinion, that apparently not too many share, otherwise people wouldnt be buying every damn one they make.

A lesson Sony's base figured out a bit too quickly after launch.

Of course it's opinion, but I have to agree. I was very excited with the Wii when I first got it, and I didn't really play zelda much either.

But now it just collects dust. Super Paper Mario was great but I just kind of lost interest when I was in the middle of it and haven't finished it.

My 360 gets TONS more play than my Wii.

I will say though the Wii is great when you have people over who aren't really into gaming. It's a fun machine for times like that. I've even had a Wii party that had about 5-6 couples over, and everyone was having a blast with the most basic games on it. They all loved creating their own Mii and what not.

Thing is, I rarely have Wii Parties or anything like that. The Wii is not a system to play by yourself.

Also the lineup for the Wii is looking pretty dismal for anything coming out soon.

Well, I guess it'd been the opposite for me then. I've mostly been playing single player games on it though...the 360 was collecting dust so I got rid of it, because other than gears of war, anything else worth playing is just a PC port. Which really only matters to people that have a gaming PC, but I guess I'm one of them.

You're wrong about the years releases being dismal though...theres plenty of great stuff coming out.

Sorry but I don't just copy/paste every game that is coming out and call it a good game.

You have WWE Smackdown and NBA Live on that list...

Only games on that list that look remotely interesting to me are Mario Galaxy (and even that game looks pretty lame in it's current state) and Metroid. But after playing FPS on the Wii I'm really having doubts for Metroid. Nights I may also check out because the Saturn game was just awesome.

Well yah obviously it's all opinion, but the 360 is just way more fun for me to play. My power went out like 3 weeks ago and my Wii still has it's red light on cause I haven't even turned it on to put it in stand by mode.

And there are not many games that I care for coming out on Wii. If I keep it, it'll be just for when I have a lot of people come over and we can just goof around. The Wii is definitely a better system than 360 for those situations.

And I don't play games on PC anymore so if a game is a PC port or not, I don't really care. I do know that there are plenty of games coming out on 360 and are already out on 360 that are not on the PC, and they are ones I play.

But most of the games coming out that I'm looking forward to aren't coming out on the Wii or will play/look tons better on the 360 than the Wii.

I'm not saying the Wii is terrible or anyting, because it's not at all. It's just not for everyone.

Nah, these games are off of a printout that I got from Gamestop the other day when I purchased Super Paper Mario. There is some very good games on the horizon for the Wii. Now don't get me wrong, because as soon as I have the funds available, ill be getting another 360, and my first PS3.

Guess im a little partial to Nintendo from growing up with it. PS3 I will own for Castlevania ( if released ) Metal Gear Solid 4, and Ninja Gaiden Sigma

360 for Gears Of War, Lost Planet and Halo 3.

I will say this though, Final Fantasy Crystal Bearers looks like a great game for the Wii.

I just hope someone releases a Donkey Kong game for the Wii similar to the Donkey Kong 64 on N64. Now that would be sweet.

I know! I just decided to get one and it's still hard to find! I want one as an excuse to get some light exercise, and to play some gamecube classics that I missed (Metroid).
