Still Searching for Retail company

I am rereplying about my interest in finding a company to build me a computer. Although I am sure building your own computer is enjoyable, in all honesty, I do not change my own oil every 4 months even though i would feel like a man in doing so, because I am too busy. Therefore I am willing to outsource. Could anyone give me some tips about where a reasonably intelligent person(in my own mind at least) could find someone reasonably competant to put together a good computer and support the product with a 1-3 year warranty. should i look for the local small fry. Should I look to gateway or dell. Should I look for obscure dealers like Xi computer.com. I am simply overwhelmed with choices and needed the troubles taken away.
Thanks so much for any input.

yeah but you'll pay the Dell price and sacrifice your upgrade options. I would go with a local "mom and pop" style computer store. there are dozens here in my city and they offer superior value (price) and experience compared to the big-chain computer stores (compUSA, best buy, etc..) and most shops will support your PC. if it breaks, no need to ship it off to Dell either. Just ask around and see which shop in your area has been in business for a long time - that says alot in itself..

Dell has a $1200 p4 system but no overclocking, crapppy vid card, crappy sound card...its about $1500 for a nice one with a trinitron monitor, life time phone tech support, and 1 year on parts and labor, they dont care if you upgrade (unlike gateway with sticker seal), but you can get a better comp for cheaper if you build..

Screw bestbuy and compusa, they have crappy hp's which are at rip off prices

i myself have a dell...

check out www.ibuypower.com i think thats it. Few days ago friend's little bro wanted me to configure him a computer, i took off the monitor and stuff and the windows ME edition (save like $200 from those 2) but I configured a 1300mhz athlon with 7200rpm 30gb (can't remember if it said what brand) and like 256mb for under $1100, i think i put an asus a7v133 on there I don't know, but I think thats the website. It was their best buy special i configured.
