Still need a Socket 939?

Wow, didn't think these were still around. That 4800+ at 2.4GHz and 2MB of cache would be a great upgrade for someone with a 939 board. And retail box to boot!

The OEM version is listed at the bottom of the page for $119.00. I can't bring up any info, but it will add to your cart.

NICE!

Before I pull the trigger, do you guys think there is at all a chance that 939 FX-60 or Opty 2.6 Ghz will drop this low anytime soon?

Not worth the wait. The stores will run out of them before they're that cheap. Then you will only get them on eBay, overpriced probably. Don't wait, get this now.

wtf? i was looking for these a few months back and peopel were selling them for $400+ on Ebay. Most retailers didn't even have them listed on their websites either, and if they did, they were $300+.

I ended up getting an Opteron for $225.

This pisses me off.

Saw this on FW, Ordered the OEM 4800+... Backordered, and chances are my order will get cancled... Oh well, I should probably wait till the new Intel/AMD chips come out in November, and pick up a C2D when the prices drop arround BF...

I am running a single core 3500+ and jumped all over the 4800 OEM chip. I have been waiting for this chip for a long time.

It is backordered until November 15th but I am not in any hurry.

Heh. I thought these particular chips were long gone and that the only ones available anywhere where the 3800 and 4200. It is kind of encouraging to see them back. Must have found them in a dusty back room at Tiger Direct headquarters.

I'm hoping to upgrade my Opteron 148 for the right price, but I'm not going to fret about this. I suspect that the $70 (at Newegg) 4200 will overclock up to where the 4400 and 4800 would max out at anyway and if I were going to spend $110-120 I'd spend another $20 and get an Opteron 175 and overclock it.

The 4400+ is very tempting (I would be overclocking to 4800+ speeds, of course), but is it really worth paying nearly twice the price of a 3800+ on Newegg? $60 for a dual core is just sooo good...

Yah, I opted for a 3800 myself for my spare 939 board which I hope will hit 2.7 but for the non overclockers this is a pretty good price for a 4800.
