Could you link to your old thread so some people can know the whole story to help you out. Like what was it that went wrong? Thanks :)

Hmm, I'm not sure what others have suggested, but what about a clean install of your OS?

Have you tried a different power supply yet? 768MB of ram pulls a lot of juice, as does the 9500 pro and 2400+ and you have two hard drives. Man that's a lot to ask of a 300W generic.

By the way, just to eliminate a possible hardware conflict, I have in one of my systems that CPU and motherboard, and for a short time, tried that video card. I was debugging why my 9500 wouldn' work in another system, and the only conclusion I came to was that either the card was bad or incompatable with my other motherboard (MSI K7N something), as it worked in the ASUS A7V333. If your format the hard drive with XP2000 or XP, and do everything right and it still doesn't work, then it is a bad card IMO.

Edit ditto pelikan, a 300 wat generic could VERY well be your problem. An Antec 300 or better is recommended. Do you have a local store where you could buy an Antec and return it for no restocking fee ? If so try that, and if it fixes the problem, keep it, and if not, (keep it anyway) decide what to do. See above paragraph; PSU and/or a bad OS install need to be tried one at a time, and the OS re-install is free (assuming no data loss), where as the PSU upgrade costs.

I too had problems getting a Radeon 9500 Pro to work in games and other 3D apps. To get it to work I had to disable AGP Fastwrites and AGP8X. Later after fighting with the ATI SMARTGART program I was able to re-enable the AGP8X feature.

I think if you haven't yet that you should disable Fastwrites and set your system to run at AGP4X mode. See how that goes. Oh, and have you installed the Via Hyperion drivers yet? That might help if you haven't.

If you've done even the things I suggested then it is time to pursue an RMA. Your card is likely to be defective.
