still having ECCP problems

:|:|:|:|

OK - It seems that once again my results aren't getting submitted/counted. The stats site says 56 but my client says 147. It has been running with the same setting since my last post about troubles. So if anyone can point me to ALL the files I need and how to config I'd be greatful.

-Win2k
-permenant connection
-would like to see what is going on(since i've had problems😛)

Thanks

BTW - joinT - I tried installing last night for you but something was messed up so I'll try to reinstall at noon provided I get my current problem resolved(so I don't screw your install up😉 --I'll run it on another machine for a while to make up for the delayed start😱)

Okay it sounds like maybe you need to start from scratch. You might want to do this in a separate folder so that you can submit the old dplist to Chris for credit.

Go here

Download the windows GUI and install it.

Next go here
and unzip it into the ECCp directory you installed the first client from.

After that you are ready to crunch 🙂

don't worry about it bro. I don't like the ECCp client that much either, it's kinda flaky in XP.

Well - Third install complete 🙂

Hopefully this one sticks. I guess we'll see at 12 when the stats are updated.

Whenever I put ECCp onto a new machine I never install it. I just copy over a folder from an exisiting ECCp installation and delete the plist, eccinfo, dplist, and dplist.log files. You only files required for running are:

ECCp executable (whichever version you have)
Eccp109.ini
Userinfo.txt
cygwin1.dll

The plist and eccinfo files will be created on the first run. Its really an easy client to install - once you get an initial install going. You always want to delete the plist file when you transfer to another machine so that you are not processing duplicates.
