Ok...

Antec Sonata w/ 380w PSU
2048mb Geil PC3200
MSI Neo4 Platinum
AMD 64 3200+
XFX 6800GT

Ok... Here's the deal... The computer has been freezing randomly since I have built it. I upped the voltages on my memory (2.8) and it helped with the freezing issues in 3DMark03/05. HL2 froze after I fixed the 3dMark issues, so I ran memtest for 6 hours (8 passes) with zero errors. Ok, so what do I do? The computer freezes no matter what i'm doing, gaming or just web surfing (not so common). The fact that it has frozen while I am not in a game makes me think that it is not a video card problem. The only other thing I can think of is the PSU (which I have already ordered). I want to make sure I am not overlooking anything. Nothing is overclocked... I have the memory voltage set to 2.85, and tried playing around with the chipset voltage and cpu voltage to no avail.

If anyone has ANY ideas please share them. If I install this new psu (Antec True550 EPS12v) and I still have problems, what should I look at next? Thanks in advance.

Edit: The rig has also frozen while I left it defragging over night, which also leads me to believe it is the PSU. When I leave it on overnight with nothing but downloads, it's fine the next morning...

Edit: I tried a reinstallation of windows already, Windows SP2... I tried it on SP1 before I updated though, because I have heard of people saying a resinstall of SP1 fixed the problem... But nope, not for me.

I don't know the solution to the problem, but don't be a$$holes by saying "Buy a Dell". IF you can't post anything constructive, don't post it. I'm sure if you had a problem, you wouldn't appreciate it if someone said "buy a Dell", would you?

They wouldn't say it. I have a Dell. And I don't appreciate it when everyone says don't buy a Dell, DIY. This thread is a good reason why.

This thread is a good reason of what exactly? If you don't like it when people tell you to DIY, then why did you quote someone telling me to buy a Dell?

get the better PSU, you have 2 gigs of memory and a 6800GT not to mention two HDD's, the 380w PSU is never gonna be able to carry all that.
