Ever since I bought my 8800 Ultra I get random black screens that last about one second. They're pretty infrequent (I go days without it happening sometimes) and are completely independent of what my PC is doing.
Interestingly enough they almost never happen during games. I think it's only happend twice while I was playing, and both times the games were old and undemanding. Customer support for my card said it was a driver issue but I wasn't able to solve it.
Just a few days ago I had to reformat my drive and re-install Windows. Immediatley after re-install I grabbed the latest 8800 drivers; they're the only ones I've installed.
My PC went a few days without incident but last night and this morning it happened again. Does this sound like a defective card? If it is I can live with it until I upgrade because it almost never happens during gaming.
But if there is something I could use to solve it I would be up for trying.
