Well no I saw how to do it but seems risky I heard a rumor that there may be a bios release that would allow the vdd to be adjusted? So then you think the VDD is holding me back?

Thanks for the reply....

so you do lol
didnt bothe scrolling down
my bad

anywyas, i see your ram timings are really agressive, relax them
(raise the #'s)

if it still doesnt owrk, id say its a safe bet that you need vdd mod to acheve 200mhz
have you tried bumping mult down to like 7or so to see if you can get 200 then?

Yeah tried the relaxed ram timings as well I tried 6,3,3,2.5 still unstable ok sound like the Vdd is indeed the limitation well nexit time I pull my sytem apart I'll have to give it a try thanks!

Don't forget to cool both the northbridge and southbridge chips as they get very hot. The 8RDA stock heatsink looks good, but in fact it is making very poor contact with the northbridge, causing heat to be trapped. What you should first do is get one of these for the NB with this for the southbridge or get two of the NB ones because the 8RDA has mounting holes for the southbridge chipset (that's a first!). Don't forget the Arctic Silver or Alumina compound :) And read some interesting stuff here. The VDD mod can be performed with an SMD grabber which has tiny fingers to grab a chip's legs (in this case it's the VDD IC chip) rather than risking solderwork. Good luck :)

try cooling the northbridge and the southbridges and also the mofsets of the mobo by cutting a old heatsink and sticking it on the mofset with Arctic Epoxy(or something like that, i don't remember)
people have been reporting an increase in FSB overclockability by a few Mhz(around 10)

SMD grabbers however, should not be a permanent solution as they do not hold very well.

people have had no problems with smd grabbers... i'm gonna try it out... it's not permanent so at the same time you can undo it if you decide to sell the board...

also..

you can try putting the stock NB cooler on the SB ... seems like people have been doing that as well ( if you don't want to get a new SB cooler)...

Hmm, I read about that mosfet mod a while back. Been itching to do it, but I've been too busy enjoying my rig after tweaking it for most of January. :) So does it really work well? I've already moved my stock NB over to my MCP-T (had to bend a few fins for my RAID card), and I've got a few leftover RAM sinks from some old Thermaltake heatspreader packs. I used most of em on my 9700pro, but I still should have enough to cover those mosfets. You don't have any links handy with how people did before/after the mod do you? I still think my 9700pro is holding me back though, as I can run any non-3D past 200MHz no prob, but any 3D just locks. Running 197MHz right now, so I can't complain too much :)

Thanks,
Chiz

i don't know of any guides, but i stumbled upon it when i was checking out xtremesystems.org forums
they got it up to around 7-12MHz higher with out any VDD mod. pretty impressive IMHO.

Yes I was reading on another site about cooling the north and south bridge I have a old cpu fan mounted on the North bridge heat sink still need to add some artic silver though been enjoying my rig too muchj to take it apart :) also added passive heat sink to south brifge again need to put artic silver
Hmm I thin the grabber may be the way to go then I will get a set and the pot and try it out I'll report back if I'm able to hit the mark also is 42-45c an acceptable temp range to run while the system is loaded?

Thanks everybody...

Instead of going for 2400mhz with 12x200 drop to 11.5x200 and see what you get. :D I would be willing to bet that you will hit 2300mhz and your 200fsb will work. Just leave you mem timings relaxed until you are up and running then try again to up the mem timings.
