I finally got my drivers and apps loaded in correctly, but I have a little flicker and almost like a slight haze look to it. Someone before said it had to be my monitor, but the flicker is only in the box that the movie comes up in. I connected it to my t.v. w/ the same result. It isnt like its down right horrible, but quality does'nt even compare w/ PowerDVD. Any suggestions.

BTW I bought this thing from Royal Computers and that has been the most horrible experience from the day I ordered it until today. Absolutelly no customer service support. They don't respond to e-mail and the techs never call back, ever. Anyway, I could go on and on about them, but that does'nt help me now.

What kind of motherboard do you have? Before I switched to an Abit KT7, my Hollywood Plus card worked great.. Now I get flicker and haze like you describe.. others have said they have had problems with the KT7 and the Hollywood Plus card as well.. BTW, I have tried this board on 2 different KT7 boards and one KT7A board, all have the same problem.

my motherboard is a Gigabyte w/ the 815 chipset, if that helps. I'm just curious if there is something else I need to do, or jsut stick w/ powerdvd?

Thats because software DVD looks way better than any HW decoder. I dont want to start another DVD HW/SW war, but its true.

That's because you're comparing current technology (powerDVD) with 3 year old technology (H+).
If Sigma ever decide to finally release a new chip I'm sure it'll look just as good, if not better than, what software can do. And hopefully sound better too.

Thanks

This is what I was wondering. Some have said that if you go w/ hardware dvd decoder it will be superior, so I did. I just figured I must have been doing something wrong or someone might have a fix. Oh Well, I guess I'll just the same nightmare getting an RMA as I did trying to get tech support. Thanks for your input and time.
