Still can't get a Switch

I managed to get one from Amazon this morning before they sold out. Now if my broken wrist would only heal so I can actually play it.

Just got the last one at my local grocery store (Meijer). Seems like the best place to find one as the grocery stores usually have a small electronics section tucked away that's easy to walk past. All of the electronics stores have been out for a while from what the staff has said.

Anyway, it's charging now. I bought Mario Kart, Zelda, and Lego City to start with. Hopefully the lady enjoys mario kart and we can start playing games together.

I'll have to dig through the other switch thread and see what the opinions are on the various accessories. The pro controller seems too expensive, but people seem to like it. If nothing else a joycon charger would be helpful.

Managed to pick up a new switch off craigslist. Local pickup and was being sold for list price ($299). The guy who was selling it was an old coot who won it at a event for his company. played Zelda all weekend. Never thought I would say this about a nintendo game, but I think Zelda BoTW is going to be one of my top five games of all time. The only thing that could be improved a bit would be the interface - but I think a lot of my problems with it stem from the fact that Nintendo's control scheme is just ever so slightly different than the other systems - so I am not used to it at all.

I managed to grab a switch + Zelda, Arms and an extra controller on Amazon a couple days ago the one time I checked ... apparently the in stock window was quite short. I got it in the first place to play games with my girlfriend ... I've tried to find some PC games to play together and bought an Xbox 1 controller, but it never really panned out.

Now to finally finish the Witcher 3 after six straight months.

Serious question. How do you see them available at many places without any effort looking or do you mean seeing them on a tracking website? I rarely go to a Walmart, Target or Best Buy and even more rare that I visit a Frys or Gamestop so I have yet to see one sitting on the shelves. However, if I watch istocknow I know which store in the area have them and went out of my way at lunch a few weeks ago to actually find four sitting on the shelf at a Target.
You do any grocery shopping? Many Target and Walmart stores have groceries and it doesn't take any notably additional effort to walk by the electronics section. I'm usually there for something I'm out of, like soap or cat food, and BAM! There's an unsold Switch, just sitting there, usually with a few buddies.

I finally managed to get my hands on one just yesterday. Only picked up BotW but that will probably last me until another good AAA title comes out.

Are there any good third party games out or coming out soon? Also does this have a virtual console type ability like the Wii did and if so is it possible to hook the two up or have them share titles? I bought a few dozen different titles through that on the Wii and wouldn't mind having access to a few of those.

I shop at either Publix, Kroger, Trader Joes, Sprouts or Amazon. Like I said, I rarely go to a Walmart or Target and I haven't seen one out in the wild yet the times I've gone.

I got Lego City undercover and like it. It's similar to past Lego games, but in an open world. Kind of like a family friendly GTA with Legos. If you didn't like the previous Lego games you probably wouldn't like this though.

It was on the Wii u exclusively at first, but now it's been ported to everything including the switch. I got it because it was on sale at the time, one of the cheaper switch games

There are a lot of old Neo Geo games you can get that are $7.99. I have a couple of the indie games as well which so far seem to be pretty good, ranging between $10 and $20.

Consider yourselves lucky. I still can't find one.

I think most people complaining just aren't looking hard enough. I mean, this is metro Atlanta and it's my first time at Walmart in almost a month.

Since launch I see them about a third of the time I happen to be some place that carries them. I'm just here for an 18mm socket because it's Sunday and all the hardware stores are closed.

Finally found one while out. Picked up one with the gray controls, Pro Controller, Charging Grip and 5 games. Wasn't sure what else to really snag, but will search Amazon for a case and screen protector before venturing out with it.

So I guess they are elswhere in the metro as well (unless you came to Newnan). 😉 Congrats!

I got an extra one at the nintendo store. Neon joycons and NIB.

If anyone wants it I just want what I paid for it. Thought it was going to my sister and my nephews. She put the hard no on that lol.

ARMS has been better than I expected but Mario Kart is epic. Preordered Splatoon 2 after playing these switch games.

A Walmart near here has empty boxes in the locked up case for some reason...

Meh, I just see this as projection. The US is a big country, and you're lucky to be able to find them in stores randomly. Brickseek has shown me nothing in a 25 mile radius of Wichita. Granted, I don't check often. But I do walk by the sections of Target and Best Buy, but no dice so far.

even amazon has it...
For a full hundred over MSRP as of this posting. Any official stock they had has been dry for a while, or goes way too fast.

Strange. Empty display boxes are usually for open displays, like GameStop.

Definitely not the case here. They even have one turned sideways on the top row.

4 of my local Walmarts use an empty box locked up. I really got excited at one of them thinking they had them in stock because that store previously did not have an empty box locked up and they had put it there overnight. Waited in line behind 2 people buying phones for nothing that day......

Best Buy near me had 30+ of them just sitting out in the open (albeit behind the customer service counter) on Friday. Thought about snagging one, but the only game worth playing is Zelda.

That depends on if you have a WiiU and already own MarioKart8 (and the DLC). If you don't, it is worth picking up. ARMS is a lot of fun as well, but not worth 60 (this should have really been $40, and will probably be at some point soon).

Wandered in to my local target to look at a 3ds since I have a number of trips coming up this year. They had 5 switches come in this morning (4 neon 1 gray) and I picked up the gray one with Zelda, Mario Kart and Disgaea 5. Employee said (at this store anyway) they get stock on tues/thurs/sat and once a week or two they'll get 5-10 switches.
