Stiffer mouse button 2?

When I move my hand from the keyboard to the mouse, I don't watch what I'm doing, I just slap the mouse. So I often click the scroll wheel without noticing. In the text editor I use, this inserts text at the mouse pointer's location.

The scroll wheel's resistance is only the spring in the little micro-switch, which is pretty feeble.

Is there a mouse whose scroll wheel offers more resistance?

My mouse is a Dell. I don't know the model. No doubt it's some sort of generic gadget.
Of course there's no adjustable spring or anything.
