Sticky note on my desktop wallpaper? (active desktop in xp?)

I want to implement some kind of a to-do list on my desktop. Such as a small permanent part of my wallpaper that has some notes on it. Like a virtual sticky-note. Is there any way to do this?

Why not just make a to-do list, and leave a shortcut to it on your desktop?
