Sticky Desktop Surfaces, best method to fixing them?

What's the best method to removing the stickyness on:

Keyboard
Joystick
Hindges that allow a laptop to open

Something that is safe, and works.

what's the source of the stickiness?

A warm, damp washcloth or, if you have kids, a moist hand wipe will work. You may want to concentrate on not allowing the stickiness to land there in the first place, though.

Aim lower.

The washcloth won't do the trick, the source, (Im making an educated guess) is from soda. The soda got into the throttle area of the joystick.

The laptop, just happened, no spilt soda (I own the laptop so the kids didn't touch it).

The keyboard, I can take out the keys and use a wet q-tip to fix.

Stuck on how to get the sticky's out of the joystick's throttle.

Assuming you don't want to replace the joystick, buy a bottle of Windex and a box of Q-tips, and take the joystick apart.

Alcohol works pretty well. If it's an external keyboard, run it through the dishwasher. Seriously.

Well, take out the board first 😉
