I love family guy. It's funny and fresh humor. However, I can't help but be underwhelmed by this latest series. After watching the 5th episode last night, I feel that the whole "man, this is worse than that time <insert something here>" joke has been somewhat overused and now seems to interrupt rather than humor. It must be hard to be so erratic with comedy, and to me it feels a tad strained these days.

Also, what was with the ending last night where meg just came home and everything was suddenly just fine. No joke or anything?

Maybe it's because I was gutted at the cancellation of the show after S3 and have been waiting so long for these new episodes that my expectations have grown too large. Maybe I'm getting old.
Maybe it's just not as funny...

Family Guys is still funnier than just about anything else on TV - but yes, I agree that the "this is worse than that time __" bits are used way too often in the new episodes, especially the last one. What was it, like 3 or 4 times? Gah..
