Sticking bathroom faucet knob. Would Silicone Grease help?

My faucet looks something like this:

After 10years, it's getting harder to pull the knob to get water.

I took it apart and lubed the cartridge inside with WD-40 Silicone Lube:

it seemed to help but the next day, it was back to hard to pull knob.

Am i using the wrong silicone lube?
Would silicon grease be better?

Water proof grease and replace the o rings.

There's a kit for that if you can get in HD or Lowes


WD is for water displacement. Not your friend here.

I started to say that if his first goto solution was WD40 that he must be from Kentucky... then I realized they don't running water in KY.

It's 10 years old. Just put a new cartridge in it.

The right answer is to just replace the kit. Probably less than $10. People use WD to stop doors from squeaking. It works in the short run but oil/grease/lithium will last longer.

I've also heard graphite lube more recommended for tight metal areas like door locks and stuff. Figure it would apply here as well?

But like others have said, might just want to replace it.

Lol when they ask "Are you the original home owner?" Just say yes.

I've had the same crap, and lifetime warranty going away for all your plumbing, door locks, etc. Just because you weren't the first owner of the home is dumb.
