Whew, I have been watching Taken on the SciFi channel since it first came on last week. If I didn't have TiVo I would probably have missed at least three of the six episodes that have shown so far (this includes the weekend rerun marathon).

This is IMHO the best thing on TV since Band of Brothers. It definitely beats out this season's Soprano's. There has been more whackings, drama, misdeeds, and more on Taken so far then in the entire season of Sopranos (the best thing on the Sopranos was Chris' 'inteverntion').
 
I agree it is pretty good. I have a Dish Network recorder and have been recording every episode.
My wife as even been watching it with me. Which is odd because she really doesn't enjoy sci-fi.
 
It seems that they're only reshowing episodes on the night they aired. This makes catching up on Taken a pain, even with a PVR. Am I nuts?

Is it me or did they steal alot of the ideas from "Dark Skies"

They even stole part of the set

The one with the I beams running down the corridor of the office of the airforce guys.
 
New episodes are at 9 and 11 with the previous day playing at 7. The weekends play the five weeks episodes on my cable network.

Yeah, they did steal the sets but that is common in Hollywood (cost savings). Remember the office from that Demi Moore/Michael Douglas flick Disclosure? I can't tell you how many different TV shows/Movies I have seen that in.

As for the stealing the plot, I think it would be hard to stray to far away from the Roswell based Alien Abduction formula. They just took a successful formula and are putting different twists and pretty good suspense and drama in it.

I've had to transfer all my Taken recordings over to VHS from my TiVo so that I can free up room for this week. I should have gotten one of those Western Digital 120GB drives when they were on sale earlier 🙂

 
I'm hooked on this show. I eagerly look forward to watching it every night -- and it's been a long time since a TV show affected me like this. I just hope it doesn't turn stupid near the end like most sci-fi shows do...
