LOL- you're not getting the joke. Colbert plays a character that is a combination of all the bad things in today's media. He acts rude, self-indulgent, and superior...it's a parody of Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, Keith Olbermann, and so forth. Don't worry, the guests get it when they're on.

Isn't Bill O'Rielly the real world inspiration for Colbert's character? I seem to recall both he and Bill acknowledging that in the past.

What if you're not getting the joke, that he's portraying a typical expected ignorant viewer of Colbert?

Neo: Whoa!

:colbert:

Yeah...Fox news in general, but especially O'Rielly. Bill seems pretty flattered about it too.

I must say, I just watched the Harlem Globetrotters play the Washington Generals. The Globetrotters came off as total dicks and weren't even funny with their showboating. Did anyone else see this game and feel the same? And are the Harlem Globetrotters always this rude to the Washington Generals?

Colbert has a lot of guts. He speaks for the oppressed Corporations when no one else will. These days not even Republicans like McCain (downright lefties compared to our Tea Party saviors these days) seem to think Corporations are entitled to give free speech in unlimited amounts to the politicians of their choice. Why shouldn't they? Everybody has free speech. Corporations just have more to give. Corporations are people too and Colbert knows that.

I like the fact that Stephen thinks from his gut, rather than from his brain, just like all his fellow republicans.

He also speaks out against "reality", because it has a "well known liberal bias."
