The United States and China will fight a war within the next 10 years over islands in the South China Sea, and “there’s no doubt about that”. At the same time, the US will be in another “major” war in the Middle East.

Those are the views – nine months ago at least – of one of the most powerful men in Donald Trump’s administration, Steve Bannon, the former head of far-right news website Breitbart who is now chief strategist at the White House.

the chinese are going to kick our ass and Trump will likely be forced to either drop the bomb or retreat. A worse idea than Iran, which is also a terrible idea that would result in 10s of thousands of dead Americans.

The chinese are highly competent, highly motivated, and have an absolutely massive infantry and air force. They could hold their own if we threw everything into it (which would require full mobilization of 1M+ soldiers) and they will absolutely crush any expeditionary force sent in there.

The chinese have already successfully tested Hypersonic Glide Vehicles that could destroy an entire Nimitz aircraft carrier with conventional warheads easily. The US has not even successfully tested a single HGV. I bet the chinese strategic rocket forces are itching to test those out on live targets. Taking out a strike group of aircraft carriers would be the perfect "bloody nose" the chinese military heads are said to be interested in giving the US.

They will kick our ass for sure.

Iran would just be Vietnam 2.0 except at 10,000ft+ elevation and against a way more technically competent enemy.

We have the greatest military and our technology is superior. What we spend on our military dwarfs every country combined!

Still. It's not going to be easy. Not even close. Especially if we go to war w/ Iran, China and NK like the Donald wants. Iran alone will give us trouble and we could be there for years. It's a huge country and they do have missiles and a decent army. China has that 10X. War would mean many people dead on both sides. And, would China resort to nukes if they were losing badly.

And, what about Russia? Would they take advantage of our involvement in war and steamroll thru Europe?

Trump is becoming a very dangerous man.
