That depends, in my state you can use lethal force to protect your property. Now the whole baiting thing could get you in deep trouble if it was proven. If I find someone in my house and holding my property, I'm shooting first, then I'll figure out why they are there.
 
I support you. If criminals knew the general public would fight back for sure (instead of a very small minority) they would be less inclined to commit crimes.

How is baiting so wrong? Is it illegal to leave your garage door open? Is it illegal to leave the keys to your car in the ignition (and idleing)? As far as I know it's not. However it is illegal to enter someone's property (and yet another crime to take their property w/o their permission).

We are not having Joe Pencilneck that tells stories of how all 130lbs of himself took on a full football team 'back in the day' 🙂

Most of us have had military/martial arts training and played high school and college football/wrestling.

These guys have been working in groups of two. One driver/lookout and then the guy grabbing the bag. It's pretty much going to be 4-5 on 1 not to mention that more than likely others will just join in in riot (which we are hoping for).

When a whole dog park kicks someone's ass there isn't much more investigation to do.

hmmm, reminds of the thread last week where half the ATers were claiming that only blacks and ghetto thugs "gang up in packs like animals" and assault others. Cowards, they were called.

My argument was that this is what all pack hunters do--humans being pack hunters throughout their history. sounds like the same type of thing.

if youre serious about this, do it right. set up a neighborhood watch program, get the local authorities involved in at least the plan. that way youll look like a regulated, authorized citizens group insteadd of a bunch of willy-nilly vigilantes lookin to bust some heads.

Or do you think it would just incline criminals (especially desperate ones) to prepare by arming themselves prior to committing the act?

I know a guy, Jim, who caught someone stealing his radio. Jim beat up the thief and the cops stopped him from hitting the thief with a hammer. Jim was convicted with felony assault which was the best deal his lawyer could get him. The DA wanted to go for attempted murder.

Jim is now a felon which blocks him from a lot of opportunities.

please read. We have spoke to police already. Like I said I can't give too much detail out, but what we are planning on doing would not be illegal. We have a right to protect our property and that's all we would be doing.

We are assuming that due to other cars being broken into a car we are leaving our property in would be likely targetted.

bet you feel like a big man now.

with an automatic 10 years here, most bit thieves aren't going to bring a gun.

We are not assuming they will not be armed though.
