Yea my memory is running at 1:1 currently (2 setting in bios). It's at 850mhz overclocked a little bit with 4-4-4-12 timings and 1.98v.

I'm not sure which bios it is, how do I find out exactly?

If you have not updated your bios then you probably have the original. I am running the F4g beta. The newer bios's supposedly fix things and tweak for better overclocks. Make sure you follow their instructions completely or you can render your mobo inoperative.

If you turn off the gigabyte startup splash screen in the bios you can see the bios version when you first boot up. You need to look quick. There might be another way but I don't know it.

Did you get you 3.4 OC running 24 hours with orthos blend?

I'll try updating the bios tonight once I find out the version. I started my 3.4ghz Orthos Blend test last night about 11pm EST or so, ran it all night and checked it in the morning before I went to work and core temps were steady at 54c. Left it alone and kept it running, went to work.

So far it's been going strong for almost 15 straight hours now.

Congrats! It looks like you are going to make it. (knock on wood). I need to up the voltage on my ram or the 6750 to make 3.4. Does anybody know what i should try first?

Curious about something. You have the exact same video card that I have, and I have mine overclocked to 620/1000 but yet I can only get 10355 marks on 3dmark06. Not that it's a really big deal but yours is only clocked at 600/1000 yet you beat me by a little bit on the marks. How? :)

Oh and I'm curious about your temps on your card. Idle temps and the temps just after the 3dmark06 finishes?

hmmm, i not sure why either. I do know my vid card has a lot more room to OC. I have received 11007 marks before.

i can't remember if my marks were at 3.4 or 3.2. I will try again and see. I will set my card to 620/1000 also.

Hmmm...

CoreTemp .95.4 and RivaTuner (to check my card temp right after 3dmark06 finishes).

I think that is all that's in the background.

I just ran 3dmark '06 at 3.2 and vid card at (620/1004). I got 10937 marks. whoo hoo!

Nothing running in the background.

Also, another thing... Are you sure your vid card is overclocked? everytime you reboot it resets to factory.

Nice! :)

Did you check the temps? What are your idle temps and the temps right after 3dmark06 finishes at your current overclock?

I ran the test again at 3.4 and vid card (620/1004).

This time I had Speedfan 4.33 beta 9 running. It monitors my cores and GPU temps. beware the core temps are off 15 degree C.

When the 3dmark demos switched back to the desktop for a second i could see the temps. The highest temp my cores got were 40C. The highest for the GPU was 75C.

I'm not sure if that is good or bad temp for the 8800gts.

The 3dmark 06 score was now 11099. Maybe speedfan had a 12 mark effect??

Hmmm...

As soon as 3dmark06 pops back to the desktop the highest I've seen mine was 61c, but mine idles at 54c. Not sure. You know how our boards are layed out where the IDE port is way down at the bottom of the board practically? Well I need it for my DVD-R drive but the problem is when I plug the cable in it barely has enough cable length to make it to the top where my drive is. And our 8800GTS cards are so damn big that the IDE cable is practically right ontop of the fan. I tried moving it to the side but it's tight as hell.

That was making me wonder why my idle temps are 54c (seems high) because of that IDE cable, but then again my 100% load GPU temps only get to about 61c during 3dmark06.

What did you do about that pesky IDE cable partially blocking your 8800GTS fan? I didn't want to bend and crink the hell out of it to move it away from the fan. :(

Your thoughts?

I have a SATA DVD RW player. I do however use the IDE cable for a old 120G HD. I mounted the drive lower in the case so I don't have to worry about stretching the cable.

There is an IDE to SATA convertor you can buy. I saw one at fry's for $15. A new sata DVD player is just $30 :)

Also, the Tuniq tower really does its job. :)

I looked at my GPU temps between each demo. The first demo (space loading dock battle) had the worst temps - 75C. Other demos went down to 65C.

Are you sure your GPU load temps are that low? My idle temps (non OC'd) are 56C.

Are you ALT-Tabbing out of it to check your temps?

I might buy a SATA DVD-R then. Would make life easier. :)

i'm not alt-tabing to check temps. I get about a 1 second glimpse between tests to see the temp on the desktop with speedfan. If you alt-tab out I would think that it would screw up your mark score. However, if you are just checking temps and not worried about the score i guess that would be a good idea.

btw. i'm now using speed fan 4.33 beta 18. You still need to fix the core offsets by 15C.

162.18. I believe there is a beta driver out. I saw it somewhere.

Strike that. The beta is for VISTA. 162.18 is the latest.
