Why are you comparing Marbury to a man who was the only man to AVERAGE a TRIPLE DOUBLE FOR AN ENTIRE SEASON (30.8 points, 12.5 rebounds and 11.4 assists)!? lol, you shame the Big O

Marbury never was, and never will be as good as the Big O.

Read up on the Big O here before making comparisons! 🙂

i don't have to click on your link to see how Oscar Robinson was. and i know that my statistical comparison really is more of a statistical oddity than a valid comparision HOWEVER, it also cannot be simply DISMISSED either which was really my point in the post JUST above yours.

Stephon is one of the best PG's in the league today.
Above you post: "as i posted earlier, i'd take magic over marbury ANY DAY, but in todays NBA marbury is a pretty good player. not great yet, but good, talented player. now he just has to prove that he can help a team win. "

Who wouldn't take magic over marbury? There are alot of "good" players in the NBA, not seeing your point here... I don't think anyone would argue that Marbury isn't "good", or VC, or TMac, or AI, or Ben Wallace, etc.

the whole point of this thread, based on OP, was that Marbury is the only player in basketball current or historical to have life time averages of 20+ ppg and 8+ apg other than Oscar Robertson (hence the title). i thought i had stated that in the OP.

again, as i said in my reply to you, that is just a statistical anomaly that probably doesn't mean a whole lot, in other words that statistical anomaly itself does not mean marbury is better than Magic or stocton or any host of players BUT it is evidence of him being a d@mn good player.
