Nice. I bought my dad Wolves of the Calla for Christmas. Next week (reading week heh) I plan on reading it myself.

wow i had totally forgotten about this series. i was kind of less than impressed with the last one i read, which was basically one big flashback. but i'll give them a try, stephen king was like a family member to me, that cool uncle who swore a lot and talked about sex and told scary stories.

But, Mr. King is retiring from writing. I guess he's just going to live off his millions up in Maine. I do wish him all the best because he has provided me with lots of great books to read. :)

I thoroughly enjoyed Wolves of the Calla, and this is one of the few series I've been able to enjoy without wanting to find and pummel the author for not hurrying up (are you listening George R. R. Martin? *shakes fist*). The last Stephen King book I read before this, From a Buick 8, did nothing for me and I didn't even finish it. In fact, most of my favorite King novels seem to be those where he loses track of the fact that he writes "horror" and he delves into fantasy or even more to the point, just goes where the story takes him. The Talisman, Insomnia, the Dark Tower series, and the Stand are my favorites. Cheers to Mr. King for choosing an excellent way to end his career, with Roland hanging up his spurs.
