Theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking, author of 'A Brief History…Stephen Hawking to appear on ‘Big Bang Theory’

Monday, March 12, 2012
We knew if we waited long enough, Stephen Hawking would eventually apply his unique grasp of the universe to something we can all understand.

On April 5, he will guest-star on the CBS sitcom "The Big Bang Theory."

Good luck to "American Idol," which also airs at 8 p.m. Thursday, in counterprogramming that.

According to TV Guide Canada, Hawking will appear in a scene with Dr. Sheldon Cooper, played by Jim Parsons.

Cooper, the lead character in the show's cluster of brilliant and neurotic geeks, has long been an admirer of Hawking, a theoretical physicist widely considered one of the most brilliant scholars in the world.

Cool.

Never ever cared to watch BBT but over these past holidays I had a house full of guest and there was a BBT marathon on some network and it seemed to be a show most of the house was OK with watching. I was mostly busy playing host and whatever else but started to catch a bit here and there and so did my wife. By the time it was said and done we realized it's actually a pretty funny looking show and went and watched every episode from start to current after that.

Now we're hooked 😛

Not every episode is a winner but overall it's a pretty good show IMO.

I'm sure the writers are going to have a blast coming up with jokes for Hawking. He's going to want to ham it up and prove that deep intellect pertains to humor as much as anything else.

watched it all except for the last 2 minutes...stupid conference call. overall, i thought it was pretty decent.

too bad Bernadette didn't wear the french maid outfit.

I really enjoy the cameos that BBT gets.
Woz Stephen Hawking, the voice of Nimoy.

The only one I did not enjoy is that guy that demoted Pluto from being a planet.

My wife is out of town so I decided to watch some live tv. Couldn't watch Community so I decided to try BBT. It was off before the intro song.

Meh, Hawking for like 60 secs, maid outfit frustration. Would have been better to see Hawking go flying off screen due to missing gears and springs.

Found a new use for Turtle wax though.

I look forward to my lunch hour where I sit in front of the computer and catch up on an episode of BBT with food in front of me. It is my guilty pleasure these days.
