Step Brothers

Now that the hype over that crappy DC comic is over, time to focus on the summer's REAL blockbuster movie - Step Brothers!

I'm going at 12:01 tonight. Anyone else?

its cool to hate Will Ferrell

People can stick to whatever shit they find funny, "Wild Hogs" or something i guess.

What the hell is a "Step Brothers?"

I'm old and not cool anymore...but it could be some country band with two brothers leading it. Or is could be two black men with the same father but different mothers (or vice versa) doing some rap stuff. Or it could be two guys from west Virginia who might be related somehow by their uncle/cousin/brother.

W_T_F is a "Step Brothers?" 😕

*edit*

I just realized that you're probably referring to Batman, Dark Knight in your crappy post...you're truly ignorant. This is one of the most meaningful movies in the past 25 years. If you don't know that, you've probably never read a comic book in your life...or you're younger than 25, like most of the members on this board....

wtf? midnight showing for step brothers?

I'd rather see batman again if I were to watch a movie at midnight and make it worth my while.

Might watch step brother this weekend though.

Eh, I'm willing to bet you this shiny penny here on my desk that the had pretty much all the funny scenes in the trailer.

That makes sense.

A) No I haven't seen Dark Knight. I'll see it eventually. I'm sure it's good, but I highly doubt it is "the most meaningful movie of the past 25 years", that's just absurd. I like comic book movies but very rarely enough to see them in the theater.
B) Which brings me to my next point - why the midnight showing? Because the only movies I ever see in the theaters are new Will Ferrell movies. I missed Semi Pro in the theaters and was not happy about it, won't make that mistake again
C) It will be hilarious

Semi-Pro was kinda meh to be honest. I still watched it and didn't have a desire to turn it off, but I don't think it was that good.

I thought the same thing about Semi Pro that I did about Talladega Nights - first time I saw it, I thought it was just ok. Then when I watched it a 2nd and 3rd time, it got better with each viewing. I don't know why these movies tend to be like that, but they do.

I was wrong; I assumed the majority of the folks reading these forums were semi-geek-like. Anime doesn't count. Let's put it this way: When Star Wars: Episodes 1-2-3 came out in theaters, those were happy times in my life because I could finally see what the books were talking about so many years ago.

But now...Will Ferrell (who I think is a really funny guy, but hardly worthy of such attention) seems to captivate the attention of the hip crowd.

I guess I'll just sip my Jack & Coke and sit in the shadows with my LP records and replay my DVD box set of Star Wars.

I have a different viewpoint than that. For example - the present day geek equivalent to your Star Wars example is Lord of the Rings. And yes, those movies were met with great enthusiasm - but not from me. I've read the series several times. However, A) inaccuracies annoy me, even if they're necessary and B) I'm a very visual reader, I don't WANT to see what some director thinks these things should look like, I already have my own idea. I've read the Dark Tower series from Stephen King twice now, I wouldn't want to see a movie version of that, either.

LOL @ this thread.

That movie looks mediocre at best.

Batman was good, but it is not anywhere near epic like everyone is saying.

Tropical Thunder is where it is at.

Will Farrel has done too many of these SNL-like movies. Stranger Than Fiction was very good, though.

Ya, it's a shame that movie didn't pull in a lot of money. That movie was great.

Silly Deeko. That's because the 2nd and 3rd time you're watching them, you're doing it at home in your underwear while drinking heavily and touching yourself unashamedly every time a semi-naked Will Ferell acts out a stupid fart joke on screen. 😛 😉
