Similar. Dude! These things are friggin raw, we TOLD you they weren't done yet. Brats take at least 25 minutes.

We wound up throwing them on the grill over the fire to finish them but the damage was already done and that incredible cooked over open wood fire taste could not be had.

Should have boiled the brats in beer and onions first to cook them. Then just brown them on the gril... errr fire.

I did a 5+ hour rib smoke last superbowl. It was -5 with a wind chill of almost 40 below.

52 is COLD? I have literally had to chip through and crack the ice sealing my grill shut in order to get the lid open. I used to grill in the snow all the time. If you know what you're doing, you're only outside for about 30 seconds at a time.

LOL nice post. I just got back from camping in Yellowstone and this made me laugh.

BTW it was tent / car camping followed by a backpacking 3 nighter. We cooked burgers, steaks, and chicken thighs over charcoal when we we car camping. We constantly make fun of RVs although it is a nice way to see the country.

We were jealous of a group next to us who had a HUGE cooking setup - until they unstrapped their gas grill from the back of the RV despite a perfect charcoal grill @ their site...they stayed up drinking all night and I woke up at 5:30 to hear one of them puking his guts out.

We got up early that morning and cooked a pound of bacon and reheated some hashbrowns to make egg burritos.

No real point of this post - I just love camping and cooking.
