Go Stemcells
Now only if Bush reversed his decision from August 2001, we would see some real progress then.

Damn Christians making people suffer in the name of their morality.
Geron also had a new patent approved relating to stem cells today, as well. Let's hope these fundamentalists lose power and give power back to those who want to improve our lives. (And let's all kick me for selling GERN at 7)

Yes. I think it only applies to federally funded research, moreover.Originally posted by: Shelly21
Is the ban only in the United Sates?

Why is your "non-christian" morality somehow superior than Christian morality? I think the argument can be made that protecting the sanctity of human life could improve people's lives just as much as medical advances.. but you are too blinded by your bigotry to even think about the other side..
And before you attack me, I am pro stem-cell research.. but we have to be careful how we proceed, as the consequences could outweigh the benefits if done in the wrong way or for the wrong purposes.
Take your hatred and bigotry somewhere else..

Can you guys post ANYTHING without blaming Bush?
Why is Bush's Christian morality somehow superior to mine, such that he can impose it on the government that I pay taxes to? Why should my taxes go towards funding his religious agendas?Originally posted by: Crimson

Do you know where stem cells come from? Are you too blinded by your faith in your religio-political leaders to look at the facts?I think the argument can be made that protecting the sanctity of human life could improve people's lives just as much as medical advances.. but you are too blinded by your bigotry to even think about the other side..
That's fine, but can't we have a rational discussion about the pros and cons instead of simply banning certain kinds of research because it's too "different"? A recognition of the differences in different peoples' views on what is moral and what is not would also be nice, as would a decision to not impose one person's religious beliefs on the behaviors of others. And before you attack me, I am pro stem-cell research.. but we have to be careful how we proceed, as the consequences could outweigh the benefits if done in the wrong way or for the wrong purposes.
If I had any, I might consider that.Take your hatred and bigotry somewhere else..

I dont know if that is the case. Scientest have been forced to do research on how to create stem cells by other methods. MOre good research has spawned from this. It may not be as easy, but it will be equally enlightning.
