"Enough is enough. I am bitterly disappointed, as I'm sure all Yankee fans are, by the lack of performance by our team," Steinbrenner said in a statement issued immediately after the game. "It is unbelievable to me that the highest-paid team in baseball would start the season in such a deep funk. They are not playing like true Yankees. They have the talent to win and they are not winning. I expect Joe Torre, his complete coaching staff and the team to turn this around."
Enough is enough huh? First, the season has barely even begun, and second, you can't always throw money at a team and expect them to win Steinie. This guy sickens me and is 90% of the reason why I hate the Yankees more passionately then how I like my favorite team. He's all thats wrong with baseball right now and a big reason on why these players are being paid outragous sums of money around the league. You can throw that BS at me saying its because he wants to win and loves his team and theres no more dedicated owner in baseball... I don't care! The man is a heartless dickhead who treats the game like his own personal Monopoly board and it just contributes to the ideal that baseball is more of a business then a team sport. This guy should still be in jail but unfortunately Reagan pardoned him on his way out, most likely another contributing factor to his capitalistic "throw money at a situation until you win" mentality.
