Boy what a waste of money those miles and miles steel vehicle barriers on the border turned out to be;

Marijuana seized after agents catch smugglers using ramps to drive over border fence

SAN DIEGO ? Border Patrol agents in East County seized hundreds of pounds of marijuana valued at almost three-quarters of a million dollars Wednesday from a truck that was driven over the border on metal ramps.

Smith said it is not uncommon for smugglers to use metal ramps to cross the border in areas that are blocked by steel vehicle barriers. The barriers, a horizontal bar anchored to posts in the ground with large boulders beneath, are designed to stop vehicles from driving across. They are much lower than the standard border fence. Agents found a similar ramp setup last week.

This comes up pretty much everyday on these boards and the consensus among the regulars around here, on both sides of the ideological fence seem to agree that this needs to be done.

So what's the holdup?

Are not enough of us voting? I believe that a measure put up for popular vote in Alaska to allow for medical marijuana failed not too long ago and I thought Alaska was full of potheads and all malcontents, so why did it fail?

For all his faults, this is one thing Jimmy Carter did try to push through.

IIRC, this was a broken campaign promise of Carter, who did not actually try to push it through. Remind me if he did.

I'm not a fan of land-mines. In Vietnam, I saw first-hand what they can do to people...I don't advocate that at all...

I do however support the use of our military services to patrol and control our borders--BOTH of them! THAT should be a high priority, and IMO, would be a far better use of our troops than the current cluster-fck in Iraq.

I say BOTH borders, because we have to prevent those sneaky Canucks from sneaking across our borders and...and....hmmm, why would a Canuck sneak into the USA anyway? Well, unless he was walking in with a backpack full of that tasty B.C. Bud... 😉
In the most recent crimmigrant raid here in Kahleeforneeya, it wasn't only Mexicans who were rounded up. Most of those arrested in the raids were Mexicans, but others came from India, Kenya, the Philippines and Colombia.
 
We can build thousands of miles of roads, but we can't build a fence. PSA, those concrete slabs you use to build freeways, just put them up vertically instead of horizontally. 😉
 
Just put up a few towers and use high-powered rifles or possible robotic weapons with remote control cameras. Isreal and South Korea have been exprimenting with this type of equipment on the border.

As an American I am for enforcing our immigrations laws. I dont care if we have to put 1,000,000 soldiers along the border. If that is what it takes that is fine with me. I am not deluded and I dont believe Mexican Invaders, lawbreakers, or criminals deserve a right to exist in America. My ideas might be radical. I would be willing to try anything to secure our borders. Why should Mexicans not be sent back if they are illegal immigrans. If your state hires a lot of illigal immigrants, then maybe you are just unamerican, or you are trying set up a second lower class of Americans. Are you a supporter of slave labor?

Don't fall into this trap of believing people that are not Americans will not take your job. After all the lower paid jobs are filled they will want your job.

If I said what I really think I would probably be kicked off of the forum. I dont think Americans are willing to do what it takes to protect America from these Criminals and invaders crossing our borders illegally, and invading our country. They are an invasion force that wants to take over the USA. If California will not enforce the Federal Laws, then send in the Federal troops and take back the governemnt of the state by force and enforce federal law by the sword.
 

I think marijuana should be legal...but...if people are going to blatantly break into our country (aka invade) in spite of fences and vehicle barriers then...

...maybe we should mine the border as some people suggested or just open up on those vehicles with RPGs and tank shells. We asked that people respect our borders. We asked nicely. We even put up a fence and vehicle barriers. If someone tries to break in in spite of that, I don't have any sympathy for them if their vehicle is blown up by a land mine or an RPG.

Neither is illegal immigration. If the odds say you are going to DIE trying to cross the border the number of people trying will go WAY down without chewing up expensive human (Border Patrol) resources.

Neither care about the long term consequences of what they do, because they will be dead by the time America folds, and their children will be able to move wherever they need to with their massive inheritances. I say we deport the politicians first.
 
I think 40 or 50 examples of a hollowpoint .223 to the skull will get the message across loud and clear. Oh and when Mexico calls to whine, remind them of THEIR immigration policies with regard to us.

That would be hilarious. I hope that some cretin goes and does it at a couple spots, perhaps along with some sort of pictorial warning. Maybe the guy who designed the illegal alien crossing signs for the California highways could do it?
