Steam weekend deal

Awesome deal if you don't own these yet. I have disc copies of FarCry and Dark Messiah, and I bought BG&E awhile back on Steam for $5, but I went ahead and ponied up the $10 to get them all on my Steam account anyway, screw it. Maybe I can sell my disc copies of FC and Dark Messiah for $5 on Craigslist or something, lol.

Steam Weekend Deal

boooo horrible way to end ubisoft week. I have 3 out of 4 already. and the only one that was halfway decent was far cry, and you can buy that on the AT f/s forums for dirt cheap.

Wow, this kind of kills GOG.com's offering of BG&E & IL-2 for $9.99 each which just came out this week. I think I'll have to bite on this.

Dam it, I held out since buying on Monday, but I might have to grab this. Only one I have is FC, so this would be good for me, but do I need even more of a backlog?????

Dunno what you're talking about Beyond Good and Evil is an amazing game, one of best adventure games of all time IMO, they're making a sequel to it, so now's a good time to try it out. Dark Messiah had some pretty major copy protection based bugs at launch, but they've fixed a lot of that since then, and it's a great game, reminds me of a more linear, structured Oblivion, obviously not as long, but it doesn't need to be. IL-2 is without a doubt a kickass flight sim in every way.

These games for $2.50 each are a no brainer IMO.

Also a note: BG&E has some glitches in Vista for most people. There are fixes out there, so you can get it working, but it does take some extra effort on your part if you're looking to play BG&E in Vista. Here's a thread on how to get it running properly.

I bought beyond good and evil for Ps2 and couldn't play it... it was just so blurry and... slow...

Anyone know if the PC version is *crisper* if you know what I mean?

PC version runs at a high resolution, so yeah, it does look a lot better just by having that ability.

I didn't have any of these, so $2.50 each is a great deal.

Dark Messiah is supposed to be a second-rate Oblivion, but it's definitely worth $2.50.

Nice deal if you don't have those games.

I already have Far Cry and the full IL2 compilation pack. I don't really have the patience for adventure games and can't really get into them. So that just leaves Dark Messiah for me.

same here, seriously thinking of picking this up. Looks like BG&E got some good reviews on metacritic.

I wouldn't call it 2nd rate, it's a different experience, very linear, decent story, not open world at all really, but still a good game in it's own right.

If you never picked up FC, it is easily worth $10.00 by itself. Great game; even more amazing is that it is tough to tell this is a 5-year old game.

Don't own any of them. I did play some of Far Cry several years ago when I got a free copy with my GeForce 6800, and I enjoyed it (other than the fact that the enemy mercs were all sharpshooters with bat-like hearing). I also played some of Beyond Good and Evil on the PS2 a while ago but it was really, really slow... horrible framerates, smudgy/bad graphics, etc., and I got stuck part of the way through. I'd like to see how it plays on my computer instead.

Never played IL-2 or Dark Messiah. But damn, $10 for four games, three of which I know are at least decently good? Hell yes.

Damnit, steam is getting a good chunk of my money a little at a time when they do these pack deals!

Thanks a lot op, you bastage!

BTW anyone else try the Monster Truck Nitro game? Im soooooooo addicted to it, one of the first games in a very long time I paid full price for.

Freakin Chrome resubmitted my reply, and Firefox quit working with its restarts o deaths, or random lock ups, whats a guy to use now a days 😛

Cant even use safari for it wont read my MSN mail, it loads the page just fine, but I can click till my fingers turn into little nubs, it wont open any of it. Life on the internets suck for me.

I got to use 4 different browsers to surf the web now a days, and it dont matter what pc Im using and if I redo it or not, the world is just coming to an end. Sorry op, figured I wouldnt let this space go to waste since Chrome fugged it all up.

To answer my own question, apparently I do need more games in my backlog, the pack has been purchased.

Yeah, it definitely is. The PS2 version had _terrible_ blur. The best console version is the GameCube version.

Finally able to connect. That sucked for a while since I just got this and Titan Quest Gold.

I think this is better as a nostalgia purchase than a purchase for those who haven't played these games before. BG&E and Dark Messiah were fun at the time, but they really haven't aged well IMO. Far Cry had better graphics than gameplay and IL-2 is a pretty hardcore sim to be recommending to the average forum browser.

I would argue that the pack is fairly priced and people expecting to get four great games for $2.50 each will be a bit disappointed.
