Yeah, i was going to ask about that one. Forgot the name, but remember it looking pretty good when it came out. Never got around to trying it, though.

I still have Galactic Battlegrounds....but it wasn't anything new, truly unique in the RTS world. basically AoE with Star Wars skin. meh.

oh. and Shadows WAS really, really good.

but who can forget the Star Wars/Empire/RotJ 2D side scrollers for SNES. those were freaking fun!

I miss classic side scrollers :(

Ah, yes, indeed, the SNES Super Star Wars trilogy, I finished the first and the third, but I must admit that I've never been able to beat Empire Strikes Back, I guess I might try eventually since I still own them and my SNES works fine, I'd just need to plug everything again and take it out of my 16-Bit gaming era crypt hehe. Also, I forgot, the Battlefront games aren't bad in my opinion, could have been better surely, like any games I guess, but I've seen much worse. I liked Battlefront II, and even though I don't play it anymore it's still installed and I'm sure I would still enjoy a short skirmish in Mos Eisley in Assault mode with all the Jedi and Sith heroes battling it out.

To be honest I'm not quite sure where that "most Star Wars games suck" mentality comes from, perhaps due to the absence of "epic" ones since the past few years, that would be understandable of course, but the Star Wars franchise doesn't really suffer from a poor games library, there are of course bad games, I'm not saying they don't exist (Demolition, Bombad Racing, Trials of Obi-Wan, Republic Heroes and a few others come to mind) but if there's one science-fiction franchise that I really like as well that I would say does suffer from a poor games library it has to be Star Trek, that one hasn't been lucky since... my God... I can't remember really, what was the last Star Trek game that I actually enjoyed?

I'm surprising myself with this question actually, I can't answer it by heart. I think it'd have to be Bridge Commander or maybe Starfleet Command III... that'd be about seven or eight years ago, and I wouldn't even bother with Legacy or Online. In any case, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed doesn't really interest me, but I wouldn't exactly call it a bad game, it seems to have its moments but I guess I'm just not into any third-person Star Wars action game-play type right now, I'd rather give a try to KOTOR2 instead with the recently completed mod that adds cut content and such, actually I might have to consider that one seriously (nope, still haven't played KOTOR2 at all to this day).

I concur, I play Empire at War (and its expansion pack, Forces of Corruption) occasionally, it's really fun, especially the space battles that can end up being quite epic, especially with mods. Also I really liked Galactic Battlegrounds and Clone Campaigns, with surprisingly good campaigns as well (running on a modified AoE II engine). I also really liked Shadows of the Empire (on the N64, but there is a PC version), on the Jedi difficulty it was one of the most challenging game on the N64 that I can recall.

I didnt mention it because a lot of people criticized it as being an AOE mod, but I really liked Galactic Battlegrounds and the Clone campaigns expansion too. And I liked Empire at War. The space battles were fun, but ground combat kind of sucked.

Another game no one mentioned was Lego Star Wars. Not epic or earthshaking, but a lot of fun with a sense of humor.

Word. Only good ones I can remember are X-Wing, Tie Fighter, XvT, and the original Dark Forces.

Hmm.. Was that really all? Am I forgetting any?

Jedi Knight II! To this day, it's still one of my favorite games. I've played hundreds of hours of Jedi Academy too, but almost all of that was multiplayer.

Damn, I really hate that payment system over at PayPal, really Valve has nothing to do with this but each time I try to buy something and it happens I just never think about it beforehand. I'm referring to the way prices over at PayPal are analyzed, right now I got enough to buy it (The Force Unleashed) at its reduced price... BUT... PayPal applies the reduced price AFTER the basic price of the product, which means that The Force Unleashed may well be $14.99 but I actually need to have at least $29.99 in my PayPal to be able to buy it since it checks for the base price first.

Looks like I won't buy it then, since I can't (well, I can, but I can't... it's just fantastic).

Thanks Nik, I saw how cheap it was again alst night and had a flickering moment of temptation, so your reminder helps put the thought back in its place.

Thanks, I'm glad I didn't give in to the temptation. You took one for the team :)

I just started another game of KoTOR II instead, with the content restoration mod:

I can't say anything about the new content yet since I'm still at Peragus and the first restored bit is a mugger on Telos after you find the hold out blaster.

Yea I've been playing it. It's so damn easy and you kill everyone the same way. There's practically no strategy for anything.

I already got Force Unleashed for $15 for the 360 months ago. Considering the game practically requires a controller to play, there doesn't seem to be much benefit to buying it for PC other than the graphics. Well, maybe at the moment there is since the price is the same, but $15 is about what this game is worth, not $30.
