Finally purchased Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. Just 3 bucks! Among the best games ever made.

Right.. best game ever? 😵

Command & Conquer The Ultimate Collection has been on sale many times for $5.

This is another sale full of ... meh.
Pretty much everything I have looked at was a few bucks cheaper before the 'sale' at various places.

Long gone are the days of getting very good deals.

Antichamber, great pick.

Funny thing on the room. I've been playing it on Android and like it a lot. I suggest you avoid using hints, more satisfying, great game.

So I saw you got it on steam and said, oh, it's on PC too? And looked it up on Steam.

You guessed it. 'You own this'.

It may have lost some its magic for you guys but my 9 and 14 yo sons are going crazy right now.
Last I heard my youngest son got a game called Subnautica for $11 and he was stoked about it.

Thinking about Stardew Valley, though it's only 20% off.

Make sure you enjoy that type of game as some don't care for it.

Otherwise I had gotten it when it was released and I was not disappointed and got about 60ish hours in it and don't think I finished to the point of reaching the main game end although you can keep playing after it for as long as you wish.

I've picked up a couple of games on the cheap so far but I really hope the Solus Project goes for a better price than what they have it marked down to right now.

If it shows the sale date ending on the 4th that that's what the price will stay for as flash sales are over because of the refund system and a large amount of the community hated it.

Looks like i'm only gonna spend about $15.. The games I want to buy are not discounted enough to be worth it to me.

Just like the past few sales, my wallet is safe once again. Most games I want have already been at a higher discount and I passed on them so passing again. It's terrible, even old games like Borderlands 2 GoTY are pricier now than they were a couple of years ago. Steam increased it's Canadian prices so much that 50% off a game means it's still 40$.

Yeah, companies just aren't going to price their games at rock bottom for 10 full days about every 6 months. It cannibalizes their sales too much for the other 345 days a year. Steam either needs to shorten these sales now or rotate the games by several themes over the course of it.

I wonder how this sale reflects upon the upcoming holiday (BF and Christmas) sale? I buy so few games but it is/was nice to be able to pick a few up every sale. I'll have to take a closer look at what they have to sell later ...

He's something to remember keep in mind I don't want this to become P&N. Sale prices for nearly everything is higher now its part of the cycle, more people are working means higher average prices. We may not want to see the rock bottom prices from 2009-2012

I'll probably pick up Fallout 4 sometime during this sale. I don't really stockpile games anymore, and I still have a good amount of Witcher 3 to get through. I imagine there is enough gameplay between TW3 and F4 to last me until the Christmas sale.

Thanks, I'll try it without hints.

Overall sale is mediocre, but I'm using it to stock up on some VR titles - it seems to me that many of the VR games had rarely if ever gone on sale before the summer sale.

Historically, they did exactly that. So "it can't happen" isn't true. Steam sales made a fair amount of economic sense for older games where the sales had dropped off to nothing - 1000x the sales at 80% off was still a net profit. "1000x" may sound like a gross exaggeration, except that some developers have said in public that their Steam Sales results were that dramatic.

The question at this point is whether we'll see those days return, rather than them being "impossible."

I think the rock bottom prices bring in sales they otherwise would not have gotten at higher prices, or at least that's true in my case. I've certainly bought games I would not otherwise buy at higher prices but did buy at the <$5 price point just out of curiosity. Most of my Steam purchases I've still yet to play.

OK, I'm going back and forth - should I get Project Cars ($15) or Assetto Corsa($21)? Some say the AI in PCars is terrible.

Edit: Neither one supports Xbox One controller's Impulse Triggers - Guess I'm sticking with Forza 6 Apex.

I would love to have both of those games. I'm waiting for an insanely low price on Project Cars GOTY.
