Ah, screw it... resistance is futile... literally.

I have a back log it games to play as well...AND I have this on 360...AND I still bought it.

I didn't really enjoy this game after the first 4-5 hours. After that it seemed extremely repetitive. That said, I think it's worth $10 just to experience the beautiful graphics, even if it's not the greatest game.

Wow. Nice deal. I only got 3 hours into the game and couldn't even get into it because the controls were so damn wonky. I'm kind of particular but it just seemed so consoley to me. Should I have given it more time?

Doesn't this game need pretty good systems specs to run well? So it's a Ubisoft 50% off deal. What other Ubisoft games are there cus I don't wanna spend a buttload of money this week. Just buy one good one. They HAWKS and this and what else?

Wow, I've been checking Steam every Friday because of their weekend deals. I guess those are selling so well they're having deals more often.

I've got this game for the PS3, though I haven't played it yet. Is it worth it to get the PC version? I read somewhere, I think PC Gamer, they added more quests to the PC version.

Yes, you should have given it more time. Assassin's Creed has all kinds of problems, but it plays very nicely and it looks fantastic even with the 16:9 Aspect Ratio.

Oh and count me among the people who genuinely liked the ending and are looking forward to the next installment. I'm a particularly harsh critic of overrated computer games (Far Cry 2, anyone?), but Assassin's Creed was worth it at full price.

Wow, nice deal. I enjoyed this game even though it was pretty repetitive as others stated. My advice would be to just do the minimum number of investigations in each city to fulfill the assassination requirements. Also scale the minimum number of towers to reveal investigation icons. You can pretty much skip all the save citizen side quests and completely ignore collecting the various flag sets scattered throughout the kingdom.

For those who didn't like the controls, did you use KB+mouse or game pad? I've read you really need to use a game pad to enjoy this game, which is what I used from the outset. I've read the XBox 360 wired controller is the best as it supports native key maps as well as rumble (DirectInput). The logitech cordless rumblepad 2 doesn't support rumble but the buttons are fully re-assignable. The wireless 360 controller doesn't support rumble and the trigger buttons can't be assigned unless you use a 3rd party program like XBCD or Pinnacle Game Profile.

But ya the game looks fantastic and all the free running, climbing, jumping along with the flowing combat is certainly enjoyable. You'll know what I mean the first time you jump from a high vantage point and you feel your stomach drop. And when you take out 2-3 archers in a row with your hidden blade while they tell you that you shouldn't be there. Or when you take on 8-10 attackers at once and dispatch them one at a time with various combos and counters. 🙂

Your rig should run it well, it ran solidly on an 8800GTX with a Q6600 @ 3.0GHz with frame rates between 40-70FPS. My current rig allows me to turn on 4xAA with a bit higher FPS.

As for other Ubi games, here's a list of recent Ubi games on Steam. Can see all games listed on one of the links to the right. I really enjoyed Prince of Persia 2008, which would be a pretty good deal at $25. World In Conflict + Soviet Assault for $25 for both would also be worthwhile. They also have the Rainbow 6: Vegas franchise, so 1 and 2 might go on sale for cheap. FC2 would also be worth it for $15 imo.

oooo, new deal each day. Would love to see the Prince of Persia Pack discounted at 50%.

DAM YOU STEAM!!!!

I bought it. thanks OP.

my thoughts exactly

Me too. Guess I need to hurry up and finish the three or four games that are in line in front of this game.

I enjoyed this game as well.. beautiful graphics, but pretty sketchy storyline. It's fun, but repetitive. For $10, I'd jump on it.

After some deliberation, I jumped on this.

Semi off topic, does anyone know why in the steam browser, when I try to click the link that brings up the paypal order page, it does nothing? It used to bring up a paypal order page. 🙁

this has crashed my computer 3 times in the past hour 🙁

i need to figure out what the hell is wrong.

installing new video drivers now.

new drivers didnt help.

tried new sound drivers..that didnt help either.

dunno what to do now.

Hmm guess I'm ganna wait and see if they have WiC on sale this week. I'd wait for that game. Need another good RTS after CoH. I always heard this game was really buggy so that's why I'm not biting on this one. I've gotten every Steam weekend deak they've ever had but ganna wait later for this one.

The game is pretty repetitive, but it is fun for the most part. The graphics are very nice. Definitely worth $10... I paid $40 for this soon after release.

38 fps (27 min) at max settings (not sure about AA) at 1680x1050 with a stock Q6600 and a 9600GSO 384MB. It feels very smooth with that framerate. Same computer with a 7600GT is playable with 2/4 and 1/3 settings but choppy when traveling between cities.

Would this work well with my Logitech Dual Action Rumble?

I played with a dual action non-rumble without Logitech's profiler/drivers and it works great.

Well i bit and i'm downloading now. Is using a mouse and keyboard easier?

Hopefully i can get a good 60fps with my overclocks. Hopefully..
